max Posted October 20, 2004 Posted October 20, 2004 My wife has left me for the infamous "trial separation". I have kept our home and custody of my daughter from a previous marriage. She is ambivalent about what she means to do. I need help coping with this, I do not know what to do, nor how to cope with my anxiety while my wife decides whether we work this out or not.
quankanne Posted October 20, 2004 Posted October 20, 2004 the best thing you can do for yourself is to get into counselling, and get your little one into counselling, too. This is a huge upheaval in both your lives, and while it's too early to know what the outcome will be, in the meantime you can give yourself some good tools via your counselling sessions, tools that will help you through this rough patch. good luck, and keep posting if it helps you to talk.
Author max Posted October 21, 2004 Author Posted October 21, 2004 Wife and I are in marriage counseling (my decision) counselor spends alot of time working with wife (why?) he has made some suggestions to help me cope, but they seem to focus on relaxing my anxiety which isnt my problem. As for my daughter, I believe I will get some professional help for her, maybe through the same counselor's office, he may recommend a therapist/counselor thanks for the reply
