Author Ophelia11 Posted July 5, 2013 Author Posted July 5, 2013 How can a 400 pound man give great sex?? Sorry but if you reject legit successful men for this guy who doesn't even seem to care enough about you, there is something terribly wrong with you here or you are just lying to us. No. I'm serious. I don't think there is anything wrong with me either. I know people consider me attractive, I take care of my body, I dress nicely, I am a good mom, friend, and I'm a teacher.
Treasa Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 I'm interested in what people think when they see mismatched couples. For example, if you saw a woman who was fit as in training for a figure competition with a guy who was 400ish pounds and clearly obese. I ask because I'm that girl pretty much in love with that guy. For the past year since we've started seeing each other, we have done very little in public together. But recently we've done a few things in public, and I sense a feeling of being noticed by people. Even stared at. I am pretty sure I love this guy and his weight is a nonissue for me. However, I feel like my training and fitness make him uncomfortable and may be more of an issue for him than I have been able to admit. So, curious how people think/perceive couples like this or how you would feel if you were obese and being pursued my fitness junkie. I only read this first post. I don't give a **** what others think. Keith is black, and if people notice or say anything, I can honestly say I don't notice and don't care. Hell, I forget he's black most of the time. He's just...Keith. Do what makes you happy. People have the right to either be supportive or non-supportive of your relationship, just like you have the right to not give a ****.
nostromo7777 Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 They think "how can that fat guy be dating that fit, hot girl. He must be rich or something." But thoose people don`t understand the mechanics of girl and guy attraction. They are, what I would call, "inexperienced in life". Men get attracted by looks, women by confidence, leadership etc (personality traits) more than physical attribute (even thought it also plays a part). I know, trust me. so, simple put. F'&k them! they can stuff it. In the end.....what`s in it for you? If you break up with the guy, or feel bad about it just to please all theese strangers...will that make you happy? They will not be around in your life anyway so why care...
Phantom888 Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 (precisely... especially as it seems that 5'9" is the 'new short'... ) 5'9" is the new short??? WTF??? Isn't that the average height of American men? The World Average is 5'7" for men.
tman666 Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 If you're attracted to him, and love being around him, etc., then that's what matters most. However, I can see this hiccuping if you guys ever moved in together. Dating and having sex are one thing, but living with another person is on a whole other level. I suspect that there could end up being some big differences which it comes to groceries, meal planning, and even choice of recreation (going out to eat versus going on a hike, for example). While these things may seem trivial, if you're both working people, they end up being a large part of the time you get to spend together, and reconciling the two "schools of thought" when it comes to the above-mentioned things may be very difficult. 1
tman666 Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 5'9" is the new short??? WTF??? Isn't that the average height of American men? The World Average is 5'7" for men. You haven't been on Loveshack very long, have you?
ChessPieceFace Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Stop whingeing This is patently offensive. Especially if you have never personally overcome obesity. Even if you have, it's still offensive.
FitChick Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 I needed a concrete reason -- was traveling to meet a girl several months off so I stuck to a punitive diet. For all the good that complete disaster of a date was. The best of intentions leading to the worst of results. That was probably the day I gave up entirely. Losing weight for someone else will never work. You have to do it for yourself. But don't think your life will magically change when you are thinner. It will be pretty much the same except people will respond to you more positively upon first meeting. Then you have to have a pleasant personality for them to stick around longer. What are you afraid will happen if you were slim and fit? Would people expect more from you as a person? Find out what your underlying problem is and you will lose weight successfully without doing anything drastic or feeling deprived. Plenty of people have.
ChessPieceFace Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 What are you afraid will happen if you were slim and fit? I'll wake up from my dream. Wow, so many people in denial about basic facts about metabolism. Incredible. Find out what your underlying problem is M e t a b o l i s m .

ChessPieceFace Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Has this been confirmed by a doctor? Spending $500 to go to a GP and 2 specialists to confirm the obvious? Today I ate: - 2 waffles - some peas & noodles That's it. If I stuck with that along with no juice or soda I could probably get down to +45 lbs, until my body adjusted to the lower caloric intake and started holding in even more calories. I was able to get down to +30 lbs when I ate 1 meal a day and drank nothing but water for 3 months. You don't seem to know anything about metabolism or weight loss, so I'll clue you in on something else -- muscle burns fat. My body doesn't make much muscle naturally and my job is sedentary. If I hit the gym like crazy and built up muscle that would help. Then I ask -- what's the reward? Why, wonderful positive IRL discussions with supportive women such as yourself, I'm sure.

Yes, that would certainly help. That's what I am doing. Each time you lose and regain the weight with dieting+ no exercise, you are losing more and more muscle mass. And GP may be able to find and correct a cause of your slow metabolism (like a thyroid problem). You seem so bogged down with negativity, I am surprised that you can move at all.
ChessPieceFace Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 No exercise. That's funny. I used to mow lawns 6+ hours a day and was still +55 lbs. That was the bit I forgot actually. When I managed to lose the 30 lbs, not only was I eating 1 meal a day and drinking almost nothing but water, but also mowing lawns 5 days a week. BTW I've hit the gym and very little muscle is ever built. I was going to the gym 3 days a week and it affected my weight exactly zero, and my muscle very little. Bogged down with negativity, at least I don't ambush people in threads and tell them it's their fault for having a low metabolism.

That, or you really have a bad thyroid problem with a conjunction of bad dieting. 1

Sadly - neither do you - but that's not your fault. You need to do more research on 'metabolism' because most of the schytt churned out - even by dieticians and doctors - is either a fallacy or seriously mistaken. Leaving aside your obvious sensitivity - and i can equate - have you investigated that link I gave you? because it recommends a completely new way of approaching food. Your self-limiting intake of waffles and noodles is not a good objective, because they're both carbs with a high glycemic index and glycemic load. Both of which are actually weight foods, not slimming. Every single person on this forum would actually benefit from sensibly DEPRIVING themselves of food for just 2 days a week. Guaranteed. Absolutely. The only - ONLY - people for whom such a regime is NOT recommended are: people under 18 Pregnant women People with type 1 (ONE) diabetes people with a 'food issues' (bulimia, anorexia). Every single (other) person would actually reap massive benefits from following a 2:5 regime: That is, cutting calorific intake for 2 days, to around a QUARTER of your daily recommended intake (So that would be standard 600 calories for men, 500 for women) and the remainder of the week - doing precisely what you want. Read that again: Doing - precisely - what - you - want. People - you need to investigate this for yourselves. I mean, seriously. This isn't a 'Diet'. This is a whole new way of appreciating precisely what you eat, why, and when. It's intelligent, fascinating wholly researched and studied under controlled clinical tests and trials. And it works. HERE is the link again, for those who are really curious. And believe me: You ALL should be. 1
SuperGeek Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 One of the best posts I've ever read here. Thank you. HERE is the link again, for those who are really curious. And believe me: You ALL should be.
TaraMaiden Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Which is essentially precisely what I put in my first post.
ChessPieceFace Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 That, or you really have a bad thyroid problem with a conjunction of bad dieting. Guess it's possible. I know of a naturopath doctor that diagnosed low thyroid function in a family member. However she had some different symptoms so I don't know. Every single person on this forum would actually benefit from sensibly DEPRIVING themselves of food for just 2 days a week. Which is what I said. I'd have to deprive myself. From now until forever. Many people do not have to deprive themselves, ever. And they are thin. Some are muscular. Their bodies have faster metabolisms and produce more muscle. They eat whole pizzas while I eat 2 slices. Then those people turn around and call fat people "lazy gluttons." Disgusting. And I guarantee I'd still be fat even if I starved myself 2 days a week as you suggest. More like 4 days of starvation and 3 days of salad. Only way I lose weight is with total deprivation of anything I enjoy. And, quite frankly, American women are not worth it.
IHateHypocrites Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 I don't have much problem with couples like that in itself, but I'd hate if a fat person would put down other fat people and only look for a fit one. That would be hypocrisy at its finest. Then again I still keep thinking fitter person may have crappy self esteem if they could get someone prettier but they have to settle for someone fat. Maybe the fat one is rich or has awesome personality, then OK, I get it.
