Hi there!! I'm curious (since I don't know anyone in a LDR) and I think this could be inspirational and give hope (I need some right now!). I think there are no similar threads. I searched and couldn't find any.

So :bunny::

- How long have you been in your LDR?

- How much is the distance? Where do you live, where does he/she live?

- How long till you both can live together?

3 years, 3 months.

800 miles, UK, mainland Europe.

Plans to live closer fell through, so no plans to live closer.

Thanks.

I did look, but I read the titles, I didn't click in every thread. Also, that one is in the 6th page, I didn't look for that long, I supposed that if there was a thread like that it would be in a "closer" page.

Met and dated my SO 20 years ago. Parted ways and found eachother again last June. I visited him in October and we realized the spark is still there. We've been exclusive since then. We've had three visits (October 2012, February and June 2013). He lives in Tennessee. I live in California. Even though he initially said that he wouldn't move back out here, he's planning on closing the distance in May of next year.

This relationship is challenging to maintain, but I feel that the reward far outweighs the risk. I wouldn't do it, otherwise. =)

first post here, i'm ca2tn4love's SO.

we met after I was out of the marines and moved out to northern cali. we dated for a bit but due to certain circumstances it wasn't easy. we stopped talking and then 20 years later she found me on fb. we've talked a lot since then and seen each other a 3 times, the 4th will be this October when I go out to cali for my little brothers wedding. then again in December for Christmas which is when I plan on asking her to marry me. (we've already discussed it so she knows it's coming).

gotta love how life works and moves, you never know which paths end up crossing again.

glad she found me though

love you babe.

Hi there!! I'm curious (since I don't know anyone in a LDR) and I think this could be inspirational and give hope (I need some right now!). I think there are no similar threads. I searched and couldn't find any.

So :bunny::

- How long have you been in your LDR? We were in our LDR for two very long, bittersweet years. We ended the distance in December of 2011.

- How much is the distance? Where do you live, where does he/she live? It was just under 730 miles. He lived all the way up north, and I lived all the way down south. Both of us ended up relocating to the midwest.

- How long till you both can live together? We really, really had to push to make it happen. Early in our relationship when I thought moving was not going to be an option we discussed breaking up, because waiting several years to be together would not have been fair to either of us. A few months later we realized that was not an option. When he was accepted into his doctorate program it was a move out of state, and we decided better both of us start over together than just one. After he graduated he came in the summer and lived with me for 3 months, but then had to leave to his new school. After that last time we knew the distance had to end. We started planning almost immediately. And six months later he came to visit one last time to help me move. :bunny: We live together... in fact he is sitting right next to me working on a paper. ;D We are also engaged now. We are getting married next year, and are going to start trying to get pregnant. Two years of constant skyping, texting, calling, emailing, and 700 miles between us ended up being worth the wait.
