Oh sorry

I was just wondering why do guys take rejection from a girl so hard and turn insulting because of it.

I just had a few months friendship with a guy ruined because of this

Then it was never a real friendship in the first place. Move on.

Unfortunately, most men befriend women for sexual purposes... hell, my own bf let me in on this lil tidbit of info, and explained it to me too. That's why men that are really into you and want you for their own hate to hear that you have a lot of "male friends".

Nope, not at all.

If they feel that they worked on you, took the time and feigned attention then they are often quite angry when they don't get their way.

Those are the immature ones... and there are plenty of them out there.

Real men don't do that, and be thankful that you know that about this guy now.

He's not worth your time... good to know, isn't it?

I prefer to find out earlier rather than later. Why waste time?

Did it begin as a 'friendship' or did you two meet with the intentions of dating, or were you indeed dating and decided it wasn't working?

If you were dating for 2 months and decided to reject him then I could see him being frustrated. A lot of people, when angry, turn to insults. I'm not defending him and it is immature, but it's not a 'guy' thing.

It was a friendship but he more or less always leaned to another side.

And no I was not leading him on at all he knew how I felt am just amazed and confused to see him turn like that.

Then he's an imbecile who simply felt embarrassed that he led himself on under false pretenses with you. Good riddance I say!

I'm not sure if this fits into the same thing as your situation, but here's something I've observed:

I was out at the bar with some friends a couple of years ago. As we were leaving one bar to go to another, there were a couple of girls walking passed a group of guys. One of the guys made a pass at one of the girls. She rebuffed him, politely at first, but he persisted. She rebuffed him again, this time with less patience, and then the guy proceeded to insult her by calling her ugly.

So as my friends and I passed this same group of guys (my friends are male) I say just loud enough, "Wow, really f*cking mature. If he thought she was so ugly, why bother hitting on her?" The guy in question scowled, and I had a pretty good laugh. Didn't dare open his mouth to retort, though; I keep good company (not that I would have needed them, lol).

Of course it's immaturity, but do you have any idea how a woman behaves if she offers herself to a man and he basically says thanks but no thanks? She not only insults him, but she brings in reinforcements so that a large group of women can insult the man. :)

Completely agree with sweetheart. I see this a lot. Those type of men feel like they're obligated to a romantic relationship after showing their limited "loyalty" through friendship. Definitely a "friendship" you can do without. Some people can't take rejection, but that's their problem.

You were friends with a guy that didn't get what he wanted.

The last 2 guy I was serious "friends" with were the same way. No, they didn't insult me, they sought out sex by getting to know me, getting me to trust them and then blew me off when sex was over (my choice). They didnt give a crap for the friendship. They don't contact me, they don't give 2 ****s... they just wanted vagina and were willing to devote time getting to "know" me in order to screw me.

These guys are a dime a dozen.

Ya, I'd rather be openly insulted than have them play their game and draw me in.

The insults are easy to deal with :)

Child's play. Just blow it off.

It doesn't happen all the time, especially not after someone used a months long friendship as a way to seduce me but I've had guys call me all types of names after appraoching me in a club or just in public in general and I've declined an offer to exchange numbers. A favorite line is "Well you aren't even that cute anyway" or some such nonsense. I used to think this was just a cultural thing but I've learned otherwise.

The only time a newish "guy friend" did anything even remotely close to this was when I casually told him I had a date and he spent curtly informing me that I was being "ridiculous" for wasting my time on some guy when a better option had been in front of me for the past three months . How strange since this guy friend never even bothered to ask me out...

I did not think of cultural thing option but you are right some males in other cultures might have "superior" tendencies

For the record women do this to men too. Contrary to gender stereotypes women are after sex with men at times with no intention of a relationship. They too will be friendly when they want sex and act out when they don't get it. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

It depends if the woman was stringing the guy along or not. If she genuinely made him believe that he had a chance with her then completely shut him out then he has every right to be pissed at her but if she never gave him any signals whatsoever then no he doesn't have a right to be pissed.

There is a line and we all know when we cross it, we all know when we let somebody believe that their attentions are wanted.
