sillyanswer Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 On a first or early date, if you're not dropping your date off at her/his doorstep, do you ask your date to text you when she/he gets home so that you know they got there safely? (or, does your date ask you this?) What's the right thing to do if that text never arrives? So far this hasn't happened to me... but for some reason I was thinking about it after a date last night.
Emilia Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 (edited) Men sometimes ask me but I always find it baffling as I'm not sure what they are going to do if they don't get that text? Search the streets? When I joke that I'll be on the news if I don't get home safely, apparently that's not in the best of taste Edited June 27, 2013 by Emilia 1

When I joke that I'll be on the news if I don't get home safely, apparently that's not in the best of taste Haha... I love that kind of joke. It's just one of those silly courtesies, right? I like to text and say I had a great time. If they text back the next day that's usually a good sign. I don't make it a hope you got home safe text, though. If we're not in a serious relationship, I'm not about to go hunting the streets... But I think most people don't think about what they say, and just say what they're used to saying... 1
Emilia Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 But I think most people don't think about what they say, and just say what they're used to saying... I had an ex that meant it and when it took me ages to get home one night he rang me just as I was walking down the street in a dodgy neighbourhood. So I asked him if I could get off the call before I got mugged for my phone 1
