My girlfriend of 6 years broke up with me eventually after having a rocky last few months. She was always confiding in MY friend - which they both admitted to developing feelings for each other during this time. So essentially, she dumped me for him - so I lost a friend and my girlfriend. I don't get how she could do this to me (or him for that matter), but they are now hanging out all the time and obviously pursuing each other fully now that I'm out of the picture.

Has anyone ever experienced something like this? How did you get over it? This hurts much more than a normal breakup and I loved this girl with all my heart. Any shared experiences and helpful words would be great...

You are POSITIVE that they are together? I mean, more than just hanging out? You never said anything to him?

Yep, mine did it with my ex friend, they stayed together 10 months, till he showed his true colours.

Once they have done this, there is no going back, so view this as the end totally. trust me on this, I became friends with her again, we got really close to getting IT back on, I pulled away and stopped contacting her...reason...soiled goods..made worse by knowing the guy that had been there...it can't be undone I'm afraid....needle and the damage done so to speak...please move on from this, it will cause you nothing but pain if you ruminate over them.

I agree. I don't see how I could ever look at her again.
