Pfft! I will bet her lasagna isn't as good as mine! Ha! I am very happy for you. I wish I would have read your post earlier to give you some words of encouragement. I had a good feeling about you too. I, myself, had a similar experience over dinner last night with my ex. Please keep me posted? We seem to have some similarities in our situation. Don't mess this up this time ;)

That's great! I am happy for you!

It looks like it was just outside factors outside of the relationship that got in your way. A divorce is a big thing to go through, and even meeting the right woman would be hard to commit to after a divorce, I am sure.

Glad you can both see that it was just your divorce that stopped things from progressing, and you both feel it is worth another try!

Good luck to you both!

Good for you, Past! :) I'm glad things are finally getting better for you, and that you've found a therapist you click with.

Keep up the great work, and I wish you the best of luck with this special girl.

Thanks again everyone for the words of encouragement. The people on this site have been amazing. I'm sure there is a lot of drop off in activity from people who move on, but I'll stay around!

And yes, Scorpio, I was wondering where you'd been... I hope your situation works out as well. How did you end up back together? Did you break NC or did he (or did you run into each other outside work)?

A word of advice. If you do end up back together, take it very very very slowly. I went out again with my ex-ex tonight, and started to move too quickly into the old familiar affectionate things we used to do (I started to do it almost unconsciously) which made her uncomfortable. I'm glad we are open about this, and after she mentioned it, I immediately pulled back, but there is going to be a period of proving that things are really stable before it is going to be easy again.

I am still very happy for you! Thanks for keeping up update how tings are moving. It's helpful for people who are back with their exes or are hoping to be.

I finally gave in and broke NC, asking him out to a friendly dinner, not really sure what to expect, so I didn't expect anything and it turned out to be a nice time. He started in with the old affection from before, but it didn't make me uncomfortable at all. I was pretty excited about it.

Definitely taking it sloooow and treating this like a new relationship. I suggest you do the same. If you want to start fresh, you need to erase old habits, old mannerisms and get to know the person like they are new to you. Otherwise, you're right back to square one.

I hope it continues to go well for you!!

After a four hour lunch she agreed to give it another try (very slowly). I feel like I can breathe again. I'm not going to mess it up this time.

I'm happy for you! It sounds like you have had time to assess why it failed and your ready to make some changes so that this time it can be a happy and lasting union. Not all relationships end in a second chance but it's always happy when they do under the right circumstances. :bunny:
