Hey peeps, I am currently interested in this girl I have known for 10 years. We are good friends who flirts with each other in the past. We used to like each other but unfortunately at different time periods hence nothing materialized. We had our fair share of relationships and ex(s).

Both of us are single now and I have started to talk to her again and been out on a date with her recently.

The date(Signs of possible interest):

1. She would act cute in front of me so that we would grab her favourite cookies from some stall before our movie.

2. She would genuinely laugh at all of my jokes.

3. She lightly punches my stomach and places one of her random card into my shirt's pocket for fun.

4. She grabbed hold of my arm when we walked up a moderately steep hill.

Everything was awesome during our date.

However, her replies take hours to come in, sometimes minutes. She is apologizing for the late messages recently unlike in the past. She told me before that she always replies slow.

Tried asking her out on a second date, but she said she was busy as she is working full time.

She has told me that there are numerous guys in the past who messages her but stops halfway through because of her slow response time.

Friend of mine said that signs shown during actual physical dates are more important than signs shown from messaging which I find it true.

What should I do?

How do I initiate another date without seeming desperate?

Continue chasing her?

Or just give up?

Hope I can have some advice!

Thanks!

Nobody is that busy.

Period.

She just isn't that into you.

I've gone the keep trying every week route & it results in one date month if that. I do all the heavy lifting & she just says "i'm busy"

Screw that noise.

She has my number.

I don't burn a bridge but I also don't waste my time on women like this anymore.

You are over-thinking it. Don't read into response times. It's not a good measure of interest and don't make it a big deal either. Stick with your friends advice to read into how she behaves when you are physically present. One exception is if she ignores your messages completely, then back way off.

Unrelated to her response times, I'd be more concerned with the fact that she turned down your second date without telling you when she is free, or making a counter-offer. This one is tricky...some girls like to be chased.

In either case, its a lose for you. I suggest backing off and finding something awesome to do without her, then ask her if she wants to tag along. That way it doesn't come off as needy and at the same time you can gauge her interest. I would say if you invite her out every once in a while in this fashion after three times, move on.
