Why do these simple emotional tactics and mind games have to be played? If two people truly love each other shouldn't they know it and fight to make it work? What is going on with the world today? I think these sites are counter-productive. If this is all that love is really about why does everyone yearn so much to be in love? What is the point?

I think that these mind games exist, because of the way humans are, the way they process information. If the majority of people "play" these games, there must be some kind of universality. Even if we didn't "play games," we would still have hurt feelings, break-ups, etc. and a need for support from others. A middle level of social support (not loneliness or an overwhelming number of friends) is coorelated with health and a longer life. So if people want to support from people on the internet, let them have it... it's good for them. I certainly helped me back at the beginning of this year. There is also something rewarding about helping others. Of course I'm totally leaving out the power of catharsis. Life is complex, deal with it.

humans are stubborn and always want to be right and are afraid to show they have emotion and things actually matter to them. That leads to mind games.

There is no logical reason for two people who love each other to not try and make it work and tell each other that other than they are stubborn and dont want to appear weak which IMO is so damn silly.
