This is a subject I am having problems getting out of; like I don't know exactly what to say to a girl I don't know to show I'm interested without it coming off as just friendly and not taking it too far with sexual innuendoes and that other nonsense. Besides caring on with the conversation, noticing her, and making jokes to make her laugh, what else can I do. Can anyone offer any advice on this or any stories that helped them.

I agree with you dragoness. I think of it as rejection aversion and this strategy is used so they have have their toe in the water so to say and can take it back out without too much pain if rejected. Except it doesn't really work that way more often than not and ends up in more pain mostly.

Honestly you just need to get over rejection, I know that's easier said than done but the more you ask people out the less of an issue it becomes (well for me at least, I just shrug it off and move onto someone else). I used to be very shy in this regard as well but then I realised that rejection isn't really saying anything bad about me, it's just that particular person was not interested. It doesn't mean someone else won't be interested.

Now a days if I'm interested in someone I will let them know that outright. No beating around the bush trying to be the friendly guy too afraid to speak about how I feel, really it's not a good strategy. The other thing I have found with this be the "friend" with secret a secret agenda is that you end up putting that person on a pedestal, thus making the rejection all the more painful if they don't feel the same way.

Look at it this way: do you WANT to be friends with her? NO. You want to sleep with her.

So don't act like her friend or that's all you'll ever be. Women like confident men and once she's decided you're too scared to make a move she won't view you as a romantic prospect.

Might as well go for it and risk rejection rather than not go for it and end up friendzoned. The ONLY way you'll end up as more than a friend is if you take a risk.
