I put on about 10 pounds and the difference is profound is not only how women react to you, but men as well.

Maybe it's something about the muscles, but I was definitely perceived differently from what I was previously. The women looked at me like i was a player (in a good way). I feel strong and powerful. I seem to walk with a natural swagger.

I went out last night to the grocery store and I felt so arrogant so in control. I can't help it. The feeling of stepping into the supermarket being the top dog.

The women I attracted was also different. Before, I never had trouble getting attention, but it was mainly from 18-22 yo. Now older women are also showing interest. I felt like the king when the MILF cashier complimented my arms at the check-out line.

Same here. Haven't been working out as long as you, but have recently been hitting the workouts to sculp a nice beach bod.

I'm walking with my chest puffed out and just much more confident than I usually walk. I have noticed more glances but still have yet to actually pull the trigger on approaching women cold.

I think most men know by now that women, although maybe less visual than men as a whole, are still pretty visual. Neither gender wants to date someone they're not physically attracted to.

Being in good shape will always yield positive results.

Enjoy them newbie gains.

In a month or two things will slow down & you'll really need to hit those weights hard to keep the progress up.

But it stands to reason, people both men & women are attracted to other fit people.

Even more so today since the majority of this country is out of shape.

If you put on 10 pounds of muscle in 2 months, then it's all fat.

It's literally impossible to put on that muscle in that little time. The body needs two days just to recover and rebuild the muscle for small gains.

It takes a LONG time to see results.

I've worked out for years. Regimented, calories, protein, swallowing egg yolks for breakfast!

I think it's great that he's working out. Just to see any gain in 2 months is ridiculous. Nothing to do with jealousy.

Hit the gym yourself and you'll see what I mean.

Oh, and if you slip up and skip for 2 months and go back to eating fast food, say goodbye to your gains.

You do gain a sense of confidence, yes. What that's worth is debatable.

If its his first year ever of weight training, then the muscle will come faster in that first year. its a war after for every single gram. but 10 pounds in 2 months? hell noooo. its water, and fat and maybe 2 pounds of muscle. people eat a lot and the muscle volumizes with water so they think its muscle gain.

I laugh at all the newbies who join the gym 2 months before summer because they just remembered to be Schwarzenegger before summer time. HA! when it was raining buckets in the freezing winter, I was driving my bike to the gym doing heavy squats and deadlifts till practically puking myself. and this guy is talking about gaining 10lbs. GTFOH!

just another excited amateur who will give up in a month or two. not many REALLY committed people who stay long term. bodybuilding is a very hard psychological battle. the horrible diet, the compromise, the dedication. I have yet to see anyone more dedicated than hardcore bodybuilder in anything else.

everything is weighed, everything has specific times. its a non stop mental battle. to strive for a better physique and not give up when you get to great. the suffering and pain and sweat and (practically) blood you give. but theres something so rewarding when you suffer so much and it gives you inner strength. focus and will power to do other things in life you never dreamed of. it affects everything in your life.

when you look at a person, you would never know he's a pro tennis/golf player, but you know what the BB does.

EVERYONE looks! everyone. some intrigued, some intimidated, some jealous, some admire, some disgusted, but everyone looks. I myself look at guys who bb. not because im gay or bi, or curious, but more out of respect and appreciation to him because I know how hard it is to gain another 5kg of weight on the bar and eating 2kg of chicken for 20 grams of muscle.

Look at all the men raining on a fellow male's parade. Jealous much?

no, no jealousy. this guy is just boasting and for no reason. If I would stand next to him, he'd feel very small and his ego would come down a notch or two. when you get big and put in the hard work then boast all you want. Ive been training for about 2 very strict years but this 2 month crap is a joke to BB. it wont last long. when you want to be big you can sense it in a person.

exactly. diet is a non stop mind game. weighing, and eating on time. you feel your sugar level drop after 2-3 hours where you want to kill anyone next to you.

most people dont do the right things in order to get big anyway. mostly is they dont push heavy enough weights and the workouts are not intense enough. not even close to trigger the growth mechanism. I hurt for 3 days after a workout. I do mike mentzers HIT training. train twice a week but im practically handicapped for 2-3 days after. its such an effort, very few people can train like this. you need a very strong mind. most do endless sets and reps. me? 2-3 sets per muscle but taken to muscular failure. its very hard on the body. not many can suffer like this.

when you get big, you dont need to show off because people see you. I could wear baggy clothes and people can see I have size under my clothes.

I did the raw 10 egg white one shot swallow many times. whats nasty is that you cant stop once you started chugging because one egg white sticks to the other and theres chunks you need to get down. I just drank a cup of water right after to kill the nasty taste. havent eaten eggs for a while. too expensive, have to eat a lot and too much really stinky farting. its whey, chicken, cottage cheese and salmon. thats it.

Yes, especially as a beginner. As far as 10 lbs goes, it's probably a mix of muscle and fat, just like EVERY BULK EVER is for everyone. As far as the proportions, who the hell knows or cares?

This dude is feeling good and noticing positive attention from the opposite sex. I'd say he's doing it right.

yes, youre 100% correct. its the fastest gains a person will make. that first year, the body just tries to understand whats going on and is working at full speed. but after the first its a very tough battle.

but 10lbs of muscle? nonsense. I can bulk up now from 210lbs to 220 in 2 weeks by pushing tons of (quality) carbs in my body. not a problem. but quality muscle, hell no.

on average the person can put on 1-4kg per year, after the first. thats less than 10grams of muscle per day. the first year with proper diet can put on a good 5-7kg of quality muscle.

problem is diet. bb is not one day on, one day off. its every day the same crap boring taste like bark over and over food. but I do what I must to get big. BB is 50% mind/will power motivation/determination. if you dont want it you wont get it and you wont hold.

you can go heavy and you can go long, but you cant do both for very long and thats the big problem.

I often like your posts but this is false.

I know personally, I respond *very* quickly to workouts.

Maybe it's youth? Me being 25? I don't know.

I've been going for about 5 weeks, with moderate workouts, and my shirts already feel tighter, people have already noticed a difference in my body and have complimented me, and the v-shape is quickly forming.

Could be my size as well. At 5'7, any change in my body is immediately shown. A gain in 5 lbs of fat looks like 10 lbs on my body since I have a small frame. I guess it would stand to reason the opposite is true. Working out/shedding pounds would show on my body quicker.

Either way, when I workout, it looks like I've been doing it longer than I have. Problem is I'm too lazy to keep it up and never maintain. I keep slipping back.

Every person's body reacts different to exercise and nutrition. I've been on and off active all my life, and I have a medium frame. When I trim down, I get all ripped and sexy. When I get lazy, I get all soft. Regardless of OP's 10-lbs gain in 2 months, that is definitely enough time to get noticeably fitter. I've never been too skinny or scrawny, so I can't really relate to the idea of gaining weight. I'm 5'9", 178 lbs of solid dude, and for me it works pretty well. For some reason, white women are soooo unexposed to Asian men that when they see me naked for the 1st time, they go completely nuts. But I digress....

Haha. Yes, I stopped the egg thing because I heard you could get salmonella. I actually don't currently work out, but I have on and off for years. Maybe, I'll start up again.

I didn't say you couldn't make any gains in 2 months, just not something you'll likely see with your shirt on, and definitely not 10 lbs of pure muscle.

I think a lot of it is psychological. When I used to work out, I used to tell people I just came from the gym, and they'd be like, "Yea, you look bigger."

In reality though, it was very hard for me to gain any kind of real muscle mass. It's mostly about diet and you have to be pretty good about it.

See, I'm already pretty fit, so I wanted to gain mass. You have to work out HARD to gain mass. I used to weigh myself every day for like a year and a half man.

If you want to get cut up, then you could see some faster gains.

Gaining 10 pounds of muscle in two weeks is quite possible (especially if you just started) if you are doing heavy squats and other compound movements that tax the lower body. In fact, if you gained 10 pounds from working out (still quite possible in two months) you will have will gain more than 10 pounds in muscle because you lost a few pounds of fat too--e.g., gained 10 pounds but lost 5 pounds in fat means you gained 15 pounds of muscle.

Good for you OP!

Yeah; I'm not trying to bulk up or pack muscle. That would look weird on me.

I'm trying to get cut and lean. Think soccer player or track star. Lean and defined. Not bulging out.

I like to stay on the thinner side because my face is my best feature in my opinion and looks better when my face is thin and my jaw line/chin is more angular and defined. It's more masculine looking.

When I get lazy and put on weight, maybe 5 lbs of fat, it immediately shows in my face and I get baby looking cheeks. Can't have that.

Agreed,,,

I wrestled all through out HS and was always cutting weight...I decided to train heavy with weights over the summer between junior and senior HS..I went from 145 -165 with not that much change in bodyfat composition that I can remember.

I grew substantially enough to rip some of the scariest looking stretchmarks on my shoulders and lats..Its possible to put on muscle at a high rate when you just start..Now at 204, if I can put on 3 or 4 lbs a year after very hard training that would be a huge gain...

Having a good bod breeds confidence, which is what most women look for...

Guys before their mid 20's can gain muscles a lot faster than the older guys but once they get older it will stop. Probably he did gain some body fat as well but you don't need to.

I workout and women notice it it's no big deal.

It probably has much more to do with your new found confidence than it does with actual gains. Because 2 months work out doesn't show.

Being attracted to fit people will soon become a crime. Haven't you heard that the American Medical Association has just classified obesity as a disease?

As long as you're lifting weights for you and you alone. Don't do it to get women, because the vast majority of them just don't care that much about physical appearance in comparison with everything else they expect from a guy.

Agreed. Most of the women on this site don't represent the majority of women I've met in real life.

OP said he gained 10 pounds, not 10 pounds of pure muscle.

10 pounds is not impossible to add in two months. To gain 1 lb one must eat 3500 calories above their maintenance. That's 500 extra calories a day for a week. Multiply by 8 weeks, and that is 8 pounds.

10 lbs due to muscular hypertrophy? I agree, extremely unlikely. Even with steroids, it is extremely unlikely. He could likely gain 30 lbs using Dianabol over two months, but even that will be mostly water weight. The first 6 to 8 weeks of training is primarily neural adaptations, not muscular, i.e. nervous system adjusting to new stimuli.
