How long does it usually take before you start sleeping over consistently with someone you are dating? Sex doesn't necessarily have to be involved, but you are spending the night at each other's places twice (or more) a week?

That's an interesting question because I recently ran into this issue. I was dating this guy for about a month and he came on very strong in the beginning. We had about 4 dates in one week. On the 5th date he asked if he could spend the night because it had gotten late (midnight) and I guess he didn't want to take a cab home. He said he would sleep on the couch. We live in the same city so I thought it was an odd question considering we just met each other. I said he could sleep over, however I leave super early for work (6:30 A) and he didn't want to wake up at that time and actually requested to stay in my place after I left. I did not feel comfortable with that request since I just met him. After a month of dating, he asked the same question again, and we still had not established whether we were bf/gf. He got mad because I told him he would have to leave the same time I did in the morning. I never heard from him again.

Was I being too careful not letting him lounge around in my place without me being there or was he being unreasonable?

I don't stay at guys houses I'm not having sex with..

So, once we sleep together, then it's sleepovers quite often in the first few months at least.

I'm a college student so for my guy and I close proximity is how we live. We started talking mid February and dating at the beginning of March. I started sleeping over(no sex) at the end of April, and we went long distance at the end of May. So after almost 2 months or so. Its really up to the relationship and comfort level of you and your significant other.

I routinely spend the weekend at my GF's house in the guest bedroom. We usually have our playtime and then she goes to her bedroom. She doesn't believe in cohabitation and feels if we slept in the same bed it would be like we were living together. She has stayed the night with me int he guest bedroom a few times before, and usually joins me in the mornings.

The first time she invited me to sleep over was almost a month into the relationship after a late weekday movie. She likes like 4 miles from my work so she asked if I wanted to stay over. After that, it's been pretty much every weekend.

Usually a month or so into the R, OP, after we've start making out for a few times.

Same here, well I've stayed over with someone before we had sex, but it always ended up in sex in the middle of the night

I did have a girl stay over and we werent having sex yet, she wasn't quite sure when she'd be ready for sex, as she was a virgin and wanted to wait until she was really sure...not necessarily marriage. I was okay with that. I enjoyed the cuddling.
