starlet86 Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 It has been 2 months since we officially broke up. We are on day 2 of no contact, since he told me he'd like to work on things after everything else he has to sort is in place. An old friend who I know has feelings for me has asked to take me to dinner. I said "not like a date?" and he said, "well yes like a date." I would like to go for all the wrong reasons and I don't want to do that to a friend, so I have said no, explained why and he's said, "well I wouldn't mind being your revenge tool." I still declined saying that it was completely unacceptable and I thought more of him, but I have this knack of doing reckless things... Anyone else wanted to go on a date, just so their ex can find out and you can see their reaction? I'm a bitch I know.
pasteurization Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Hi Starlet-- I've been dating during NC, mainly to distract myself from the obsessive thoughts about the ex, but not in some attempt to get a reaction from them. I think this could be very damaging-- not only to the friend who you will be "using" to get back at your ex, but to yourself. It won't turn out well. Your ex may, out of jealousy, want you back right away, or get angry, or upset, but then what?
