KatZee Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 So, still talking to the same guy from three weeks ago. We've spoken pretty much every day, or at least every other day, and we've been on 4 dates now. We're doing froyo and movie night at my place tonight, but he just sent me a text asking if I'd want to come with him to his cousins pool/bbq party for a school graduation. Inviting me around his fam?! I don't want to make any assumptions here because we've never had any "relationship" talk, but to me this is saying, "we're legit dating." --> --> --> 6
Appleness Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 So happy for you Katzee!! I remembered that we had our breakups at about the same time. Just had a great second date myself and I was wondering if it normally takes about this long to really fall in love again without baggage. I think meeting friends/fam definitely counting "legit dating". Congrats on your new-found happiness! 2
melodicintention Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 What is "legit dating"....is that something like "legit rape?" Sorry, the door was open on that one. If you are going on on dates with him where you meet him somewhere other than each other's apartment and talk, maybe share food and entertainment then yes, you are going on on "legit" dates. HOWEVER you are not his girlfriend (maybe that is what you are asking?), not unless he officially asks you. So I wouldn't go announcing that you and he are "legit dating" until he asks you to be his girlfriend. Never get excited about a guy until he proves he's excited about you. 1

I mean, I've never dated in my life. I didn't know if we were just hanging out, or he wanted something serious or casual, but after he asked me around his family it kind of led me to believe he's looking for something real, no games. And he def shows me he's excited about me. Contacts me everyday, plans dates, follows up, confirms, plans future outings while together, etc etc.

We were watching movies last night and he just out of no where stole a kiss from me and my heart started pounding like crazy. Oh boy am I in for it now!!! LOL 1

My daddy always said "Love the man that loves you." Don't get all crazy over him till you know (by him professing a desire to make a committment) that he is crazy over you. It will save you time and heart ache, plus it will make you more desireable because you aren't 100% all for him (making him chase a little bit, therefore keeping the "spark" alive) Go slowly, have fun, and stay in control of yourself and you will be fine.

I agree. I am in a similar situation, my 'guy' as I like to say (cause he is not REALLY my boyfriend), and me have dated for 2 months and never had the boyfriend/girlfriend talk. We are not seeing other people but right now it doesn't look like we are going to be a real couple. Sucks, but as long as you don't know for sure, try not to be TOO invested, otherwise you might get hurt. I am trying to not sound jaded... But yeah, maybe I am a bit. I keep falling for guys too easily, even though this time I feel like I've been very careful.. But you know, you'll feel it if it's right... That's how it usually goes...

Why are you wasting your time dating a guy, for 2 months no less if you're not going to become a legit couple? Why do you think this? I'm getting a good feeling about what's going on between the two of us and have seen definite progression from day 1 until where we're at now. I could definitely see us becoming a couple.
