Supergirl_x Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Lately sometimes my moods are very scatters and all over the place My mum says I'm like a jekel and Hyde as my moods turns so quickly lately from happy to snappy mostly or grumpy or nasty and I don't ever mean to be but I can be quite hurtful and say things and act irratical when I am in this mood. It almost feels impossible to try to stay happy and calm and I don't know why. My father has also mentioned that my behaviour is sometimes not normal, I have stages of feeling so depressed...I never think of suicide although I use to be a self harmed.... I dont anymore..... I haven't for a year. I just always feel so stressed out and like I'm carrying something on my shoulders that's bringing me down.... My boyfriend has also said the same as my mum and dad has said...I can be very bitter without knowing it and it really sucks me how nasty I can get looking back at texts and hearing what I've said to y family. I'm from a decent family raised through Christianity as a child an I have good morals as I went to alot of youth clubs too. My thoughts and feelings get so low and bitter t certain times I get so depressed yet I can change a mood of this to extreme happiness within 5 minutes sometimes. None of this is a bundle of laughs it gives me tension headaches. Although I was brought up in a decent home there have been a few times were my dad has lashed out at my mother and I know that it's not been anyone hurt but its effected me cause they've had really bad fights in the past... As stupid as it sounds this usually effects me in the summer time when I wake up every morning as this is usually when they start....every year.... I know I shouldn't be worried but I can't help it and surely there must be more to why I feel so low and with sudden changes of mood I don't know why I take things on my parents and boyfriend cause they don't deserve it... What do you people think? :/
Author Supergirl_x Posted June 14, 2013 Author Posted June 14, 2013 Not atm. I stopped. I use to write a page in a diary every night...for 3 years.
candie13 Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 get your blood checked and watch out for your thyroid - it looks like it's either that or a hormonal imbalance. Check your ovaries and see if it's all ok... I think a good GP can refer you to some specialists.
Adele0908 Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 The opposite of anger is forgiveness. Are you angry at someone or something? The way to heal that is to practice forgiveness and gratitude, which is a struggle for most people. You said you were raised Christian so I would suppose you are open to spirituality. YouTube is a great place to find videos that may help you find ways to ease your emotional pain. Watch anything by Eckhart Tolle, who has lots of videos on suffering and forgiveness and the way to happiness. Also check out Abraham-Hicks and Marianne Williamson. You are already on the way to healing yourself, because you already recognize that it's your thoughts that lead to your depressed or angry moods. That is a very important statement you made.
tbf Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Take a look at bipolar disorder and Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). If either or both resonate with you, consider seeking a professional diagnosis from a licensed professional.
GI_Joy Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 First step is practicing self-awareness. The diary suggestion is a good start. It's good to reflect on your mood each day, remember what sets your mood off, what makes you happy, etc. Self-awareness is always the first step to any path of getting better. Eventually you'll discover a pattern and discover why you get angry. If you don't know where to start, talking to a professional is a great start as they can give you suggestions/structure.

I am on medication that's for hormones and is linked in with my peturitry glad which gibes signals to brain about hormones etc... and my mother has noticed a change in my behaviour I day or two after I take them. So that may be a very big factor to consider why my behaviour is like this.

Thanks: Difficult to diagnose yourself but I will have a look I already have before so I might mention it to my doctor next time I see them.

Thanks yeah I will start the diary again and see if that helps. It may also help to see what triggers me off and I can take it from there
