Phantom888 Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 My lady and I are spending the weekend together. Can't believe it's only been 3 weeks since we met. We don't see each other often, be we try to talk every night. When we had sex for the 1st time, she asked if I was tested. I was, and she trusted me enough. Yesterday when I was cleaning my apartment, I found the test certificate, and I decided to take a picture of it, and send it to her. I told her I am always honest with her, and just wanted her to see what I happened to have found on my coffee table. She replied "I trust you...it was very thoughtful of you." My question is: Is it appropriate to volunteer such information? Ladies, do you find it okay if your man sent you his test results (all negatives of course)? Would you feel more at ease, or awkward? I just think it's an honorable thing to do, as I never want her to doubt me.
Sunshine87 Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Nothing wrong with sending it. Sets a good foundation....honesty and transparency. A lot of people lie about their sexual status and it's actully advisable not to rely wholly on what your new partner tells you.
Ripnet Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 You should be doing that before having sex. While I'm not a woman I don't see anything wrong. Also when was the test a year ago? You should be having a test after you ended a relationship each time.
MidwestUSA Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 I would be fine with a verbal answer, as I'm already satisfied with his moral character (hence the decision to have sex). When it comes to the credit rating, however, I want it on paper!!
Sunshine87 Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 I've heard of people who knowingly infect their partners with STD. Lots of crazies in the world. Ps: Don't forget the window period for HIV though.
drr6 Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 All of the above sounds more or less fine. Why are your test results on the coffee table? Haha.
Author Phantom888 Posted June 14, 2013 Author Posted June 14, 2013 This was a test in March 2013, and more than 6 months since my previous relationship. I hadn't slept with anyone since. It was on my coffee table because it's where I put all my crap (receipts, spare change, bills).

Keenly Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 I have a question about the tests. Maybe the OP can answer it because he had one. Is it a blood test? Because I would be willing to get a test to show a future partner I was clean, but I can not do a blood test. A syringe is the absolute worst phobia that I have, and its not something I'm able to even look at in TV. I just can't do it. Is there a way to get tested without a syringe ? P.s. I know for a fact I am clean, business as usual for many many years.

For others, like HSV and Hep C, you'll need a blood test. I take it you've never been tested? You can't really represent you're clean in that instance.

As for all the other tests, you gotta pee in a cup.
