Kupcate13 Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 I've had feelings for this guy for many months now. And the way he acts around me makes me feel like he does too. Except that he'll be my step-uncle in half a year. He's not drastically older than me though. I realize this is something I definitely should not pursue and I can usually distract myself from it until I see him again, which isn't that often. We're never usually left alone together so someone else has to have picked up on it. But what should I do about this??
Floridita Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Step-uncle? As in, he's going to marry your aunt? And you want to know what to do? Nothing. You do nothing. And if you think you can't control yourself, then don't let yourself be alone around him. The family will in NO way be worth it. ETA: I misread...you're usually NOT alone together. Carry on.
RogerWallace111 Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 I'm thinking she meant the brother of either her mother of father's fiance. Someone who marries your aunt just becomes your uncle, by marriage, not a "step-uncle". If that's the case a relationship would be awkward but not adulterous. Regardless it's probably best to just never let yourself alone around him, and start accepting that it can't happen between you.
