Shotputter Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Hi guys, haven't posted in here for a while. So i've been dating this girl for about three weeks. I found recently that i'm not extremely fond of her and there hasn't been much spark lately. She is apparantley obsessed with me and is a very obsessive person. She already tried to plan out our future and i'm going away to college and needless to say it freaked me out. I recently went to my college's orientation and i met the girl of my dreams. We are both so happy with each other. I need to break up with my current girlfriend tonight. Shes at work until 10pm. What should i do? I was thinking of driving there and waiting for her to get out, brining her to my car and then doing it there. But i'm worried shes gonna do something crazy on the drive home. I'm just really paranoid and afraid of whats gonna happen. If anyone has any advice on this or on how to tell her the bad news it would be very appreciated. thankyou
StanMusial Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Tell her that, at college you took a liking to wieners. 1
todreaminblue Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 bit of a pickle huh? dont do it in the car dont send her a text go to her home tomorrow or when you feel ready and just be honest relationship break ups are painful regardless of obsession, even fro the really strong when you like soemone and it ends ...it hurts...there is no escaping that be gentle but firm say it isnt working out i am sorry but i dont want to continue a relationship dont hang around to watch her break down....honesty is all you have to give...give it...and leave..allow her to heal, her own way....do not contact her again...deb 2

Why were you chatting up another when you had a girlfriend? Why do you deem this girl to be obsessive? Did you happen to mention a future with her at one time, then found another girl that you wanted to bang a little more? 3
Keenly Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Whatever she does after you break up with her is not on you, its on her. So who cares.
shexy Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 I think 3 weeks is a little soon to consider her a girlfriend.....I mean do you really have to "break up" after 3 weeks of going out? That seems really extreme. I'm guessing you're both really young, like maybe 18? It's better just to end it, a clean break. Don't string her along, don't text her or take phone calls from her. A clean break is a LOT easier for her to get over than if you break up with her then continue to talk to her and give her false hope. And its also kind of quick to assume a girl you met at college orientation (1-2 days at the most?) is the girl of your dreams. You MIGHT want to consider slowing down on the relationship track and focus on college. 2
nevernotanxious Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Definitely don't text her or show up at her work. That's not the kind of surprise anyone would want after a long night of work. If you've only been seeing each other for 3 weeks then it can't be that serious of a relationship-I don't see anything wrong with calling her, but be honest about your reasons. Or you can meet up somewhere and do it. Just be honest, don't give her the "it's not you, it's me" crap haha 1
BeholdtheMan Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 So i've been dating this girl for about three weeks. She already tried to plan out our futureLOL...kids these days 1
RogerWallace111 Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 (edited) Why do you deem this girl to be obsessive? Did you happen to mention a future with her at one time, then found another girl that you wanted to bang a little more? the good old (albeit unnecessary) bitter woman's response. but of course it's not about gender, we all know women are equally as capable of mentioning futures and finding someone they want to "bang" more. you're reading into the situation too much and probably projecting your past mistreatment in there. Anyway, OP, sounds like the girl you've been dating (I'm also wondering why she's your "girlfriend") is just the fast type. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you've simply given her the appropriate amount of attention and not intentionally or maliciously misled her. And that that attention was all it took for her to cling like a tick might cling to a buffalo, in a search for blood. If you're dating her, but not that excited by her, and she's talking about your future after 3 weeks- you've gotta let her go regardless of any new attraction. Just be nice and, after only 3 weeks, I say do it over the phone. Edited June 13, 2013 by RogerWallace111 1
KungFuJoe Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 All you serious responders just ruined what could have been a great thread.
sillyanswer Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 So i've been dating this girl for about three weeks. I found recently that i'm not extremely fond of her and there hasn't been much spark lately. If it's only been 3 weeks just tell her you don't think it's going to work out and you don't want to see her any more. After such a short time you don't need to go into details about why etc, but if she does go crazy on you then that's your "why" right there. 1
