hey everyone,

I just want to know and discuss a few things..and I'm sorry if this isn't in the right section to post it in, so moderators..please change it to a suitable section if need be

Okay so here they are (nice and blunt)

Has anyone experienced dumping someone because they thought they fell out of love with that person only to realise they are still in love with them down the track?

Did anyone's first love became their last love after all the dating they've done?

Is it normal for people to fall in and out of love with someone in a commited relationship or to what extent?

People say that a better relationship can form once you end the old one but does that mean the dynamics of friendship with them has to also change?

How many serious and casual relationships have you had?

Can being friends with your ex ever develop into romantic interests again?

No I haven't.

Did anyone's first love became their last love after all the dating they've done?

Not in my case

Is it normal for people to fall in and out of love with someone in a commited relationship or to what extent?

Feelings can change but I think they have to be underpinned with a fundamental love for each other.

People say that a better relationship can form once you end the old one but does that mean the dynamics of friendship with them has to also change?

Are we talking about forming a new relationship or maintaining a friendship?

How many serious and casual relationships have you had?

Probably 4 serious relationships and half a dozen casual ones (in excess of 2 months)

Can being friends with your ex ever develop into romantic interests again?

I had a relationship with a wonderful girl in 2005, we fizzed like fire for 4 months, then fizzled out. I didn't hear from her for 3 years and she asked me out for a coffee, told me some lovely stuff and asked me to marry her even though I was in a relationship at the time!

Scroll on another 3 years and my relationship ended I sought her out believing our maintained friendship over the period would give us a grounding for a real relationship..we fizzed for 3 months then died again!! I still have her as a friend but we're toxic in a relationship together...so I think if it broke once it's likely to break again...sorry.

No.

Absolutely not. I barely remember my first love.

Is it normal for people to fall in and out of love with someone in a commited relationship or to what extent?

It's normal for feelings of passion to wax and wane. I wouldn't say it's normal to completely fall out of love though, unless you aren't working to keep the love alive.

People say that a better relationship can form once you end the old one but does that mean the dynamics of friendship with them has to also change?

Huh? Do you mean demoting a relationship to friendship and then bringing it back up to a relationship again? If so, why in the world would you want to do that?

How many serious and casual relationships have you had?

Serious: 5

Casual: Not sure. A handful. Not even important enough to count

More likely it will just keep one or both people from being able to fully move on and enjoy their lives with people more suitable for them.

Yes. It was my first relationship with someone and I just wasn't sure what my feelings were for him. I knew I liked him but I didn't know the extent and it didn't help that our relationship was me tagging along with his friends. When I broke up with him I realized I loved him more than I thought and even after 6-7 months there hasn't been a day that I don't think about him.

I hope so. We have become complete strangers, but I hope the break up was helpful for him as much as it has been for me. Even though I realized I loved him more than I ever imagined I don't regret my decision. He needed to grow up and so did I. I have been able to work through some of the emotional issues and through the experience I think I have become a better person because of it. Maybe in the future we can start out as friends first so we can actually get to really know each other.

I think so depending on the feelings the two had for each other. I secretly wish this would happen with me and my ex, but it's been no contact since the break up and in all likelihood we probably won't ever see each other again as we are both the most stubborn people on Earth and we don't even have any mutual friends for us to have to ever see each other again.
