C00kie Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Just trying to cheer up a little (I find it realising joking about my own problems - oh well, maybe we can all laugh at ourselves for a minute) Songs OW/OM shouldn't listen to: True Love Waits - Radiohead (it's so beautiful and it will make you want to wait forever ) I will wait for you - Mumford and Sons (for the same reason) Lol. Just thinking. Any other songs we should delete from our playlist?
bellasue Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 In Another's Eyes by Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood. Ironically, they were both married at the time, divorced, and are now married to each other!!!!!!
Keenly Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 That one uncle cracker song from like 10 years ago haha.
ScarlettKaren Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Next to Me - Emeli Sandé - made me cry (again) yesterday on the way into the garage. Simple Song - Shins Ho Hey - Lumineers Never gonna leave this bed - Maroon 5 And in a more humorous light - Laid - James I will wait for you - used to be a song that I would play to give myself patience when our schedules didn't mesh. Now I can't listen to it at all. 1
TheOW Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 I find it easier to not listen to music at all for a few weeks because anything can trigger you and you start going backwards No Contact / No music 3
DelusionalOne Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 I find it easier to not listen to music at all for a few weeks because anything can trigger you and you start going backwards No Contact / No music I agree. No music for at least the first 2 months. Then I picked one song, not a love song, obscure and I played it over and over when I thought of him. Now it's the only song that triggers me and I never hear it on the radio.
Lillyfree Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 these song threads tend to be deleted fairly fast, but here's my contribution: everlong - foo fighters sweetest perfection - depeche mode these two i actively avoid, and if i hear them somewhere i'll still trigger. there were others too that would make my eyes spring a leak in an instant when it all ended... but the two songs above were the ones he played for me. so they've been deleted from all my playlists. a good one as an antidote is 'special' by garbage. put it on loud, sing along, and flip him the bird with both hands 1
waterwoman Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Not an OW - but had to speak up. I love Everlong. Beautiful song. I couldn't listen to it after d-day for ages because it made me so sad. My eldest plays in on his acoustic guitar and actually used it as his performance for his GCSE exam so he was practising it at home all the time. That took some of the shine off it after a while Can't listen to a 15yr old boy with excellent guitar skills but a somewhat dubious singing voice warbling a beautiful love song again and again without it losing some of it's appeal.... 1

Elfie Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Songs to not listen to... Stay by Sugarland From a Table Away by Sunny Sweeny Guaranteed tear jerkers. Miranda Lmbert "More Like Her" (Last line is "She's Beautiful in her simple, little way" - kinda "miow" no? Caro Emerald "The Other Woman"
Elfie Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Miranda Lmbert "More Like Her" That's Lambert, not Lmbert :laugh:
lilmisscantbewrong Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 I will wait by Mumford and sons can go the other way. My xom is a fan of them and if wouldn't surprise me if he is viewing this as a spiritual song related to his bw - most will say this has to do with a relationship with god not a person, but who knows?
ScarlettKaren Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Use Somebody - Kings of Leon (it came on during my commute this morning and I realized for the first time how much the lyrics stung)

TheOW Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Just heard a song the other day which I immediately linked myself with - Ms Mr Hurricane.
