weeble78 Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Hi everyone People here have helped me before, and now I’d like to help a friend in the same way so am going to ask some advice on her behalf. She is in a long term relationship, young children and a mortgage. Her other half has given her trouble with things like money in the past, and yesterday I received a text off her asking how I caught my ex in his cheating. I used a keylogger that someone here suggested. Basically this guy has his phone glued to him 24-7. She was asking if there’s any way of tracing what’s on there without being able to get to it. Could you please suggest any things she might be able to do or look out for to help her figure this out?
HonestNeurotic Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Is the phone in her name? Or - is there a bill that she pays? It's pretty easy to go online to one's phone account. All you can see is the listing of calls and texts - the number and how long called - not any texts themselves. From that listing, you can do a search to see who the numbers belong to - though cell phones are not always "listed". For a few dollars - one can subscribe to a service that will give you the name of the owner of the phone. DO NOT fall prey to the scams for cell phone spyware that says that it can basically bug the phone for you. Unless you have physical possession of the phone, and have a bit of tech savvy - you're wasting your money. There does exist such technology - but it's only available to law enforcement agencies and prohibitively expensive. 1
BetrayedH Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Basic first steps (besides trying to get the phone in hand to look for herself) are to check his internet history, his phone/text records, and his financial records. If she thinks he's deleting stuff from the computer, a keylogger is helpful. Placing a voice-activated recorder under the steering column of his car is many times a good solution as it is common for affair partners to talk while they are in the way to work and on the way home from work. I used a GPS device and tracked my wife's car to a hotel. 1
