kgarcia6 Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 My ex and I broke up two months ago. It was a pretty mutual breakup, with him initiating it. I tried being his friend up until two weeks ago when he started acting extremely rude to me. I texted him congratulating him on getting a car, and he started talking about how he wanted to be friends but didn't want to have to talk about real emotions and stuff. I don't have a superficial relationship with any of my friends so I didn't want him to be the exception. So I stopped talking to him and figured if he decides he wants to be friends, he'll come to me. See, the thing is, I was under the assumption that he was over me. This is what he told me and what I figured because he was the one who initiated the breakup. However, ever since I stopped talking to him, he has been acting like a total tool over twitter- making racist comments, flirting with this girl that has a serious boyfriend, and bragging about how much he can lift. I look at it and wonder how I could have liked such a tool. But, this is new, he's changed since the breakup. My question is: is he acting like this because of me? If so, why? Is the breakup affecting him more than he's letting on? Or is this who he has decided to be as an individual? I'm really just trying to get a handle on the situation because I don't understand how someone can be so different after a breakup? (BTW... we're both 20 years old, and dated for a year-- to put things in perspective)
dreamliver7 Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 His actions definitely suggest his immaturity. These actions may or may not be related to the break up and by no means should you let your conscience be impacted by any guilt since he was the one he initiated the breakup. I'd suggest you to stop checking his twitter handle/fbk acounts and keep NC for your own good.
