I know it showed such disregard for me but I still miss the connection we shared.

 

 

 

As over the top as he was with your breakup and the disregard he treated you with, it's pretty likely that "connection" never was as sincere as you believe it was.

 

 

Either way it is in the past. It's a loss. It's gonna hurt. In many ways it's like a death. but instead of a death of person or a beloved pet, it's the death of a dream. Death of plans that never came to fruition and death of a connection you may or may not have had.

 

 

Like a death, it's necessary to mourn and go through your grief stages and come to acceptance and moving on. Like a death you will always remember that person and may always miss them to one degree or another but you heal and move on and create new connections, new relationships, new dreams and plans and new memories.

 

 

Mourn then move on. It's time to put this one behind you.
