Ryan_B Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 I'm 21 years old. In February (4 months ago now) my ex left me. She was my first ever partner and I loved her, so much and would do anything for her. I even took her away for the week, the week before she left me for valentines, and had one of the best weeks of my life. She was the best thing to happen to me, and we spent all day and night together, all the time (apart from the occasional day here and there and when I was at work etc). But, since she left me (we'd had a few arguments and then she decided she wanted to be alone and be single!), I still think about her, every day and night, wishing I was with her, imagining what we'd now be doing etc.I even dream about her regularly. We were only together 7 months, but we knew each other for a couple of months before becoming ''official''. She used to tell me things that she loves me more than anybody else in the past and I look after her best etc, despite her previously being engaged. I still love her to this day, but there's no chance of us getting back together. I turned down the offer from her to stay ''really close friends'' (her words) and decided to cut off all contact. But I still really miss her, and hate being alone. I just don't know how to meet anybody else, but I'm hating single life I'm even going on holiday with my parents Today to Tunisia for the week, but I'm not looking forward to it at all as I think about is her and it still brings tears to my eyes. Does it usually take this long?
TaraMaiden Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 You're only 21. In many ways, you're still "a child". Emotionally- mentally - you're not equipped to deal with something like this, on a logical level. Far less so than adults - but when adults become emotional, they revert to child-like logic.... This is why they crumble. It does take time. Please try to believe me when i tell you that this will pass. It hurts because it's raw, but you need to find something which will divert you from the pain you're feeling. And let me tell you - Tunisia is wonderful! Been there, it's a very interesting place.
