Why wouldn't he have to go through the same awkward learning process everyone else did? How does he instantly become as proficient as everyone else when they've had a decade more experience?

 

Sex isn't as important to everyone. If he had really wanted it he could have gotten it when he was 17. I strongly believe that.

 

He'll still go through the learning process, but with someone who is likely more experienced than him. Someone to guide him in the right direction, rather than fumbling around with him.

He doesn't instantly become as proficient, I'm fully aware of that.

 

There is someone out there for him. Some women prefer men who are inexperienced. And there are others who are still inexperienced themselves at that age.

All is not lost is what I'm really trying to say.

I was "eh'ing" the him being able to get it at 17 if he really wanted to statement. Poor quoting on my part. I'm usually much more precise.

 

I don't think everyone, men especially, can get sex at the snap of a finger, short of receiving services of a prostitute... Some do indeed have it tougher than others, especially at that age.

Obviously I can't speak on behalf of men, as I am not one.

But from a female's point of view, when I was at school, people were banging people all over the place. I wasn't, my flood gates didn't open until later, but other girls were. It didn't take much more than showing a girl a little attention when she was tipsy for her to sleep with a guy, and I find it really hard to believe that these guys literally never had that opportunity.

 

Maybe the girls are just less picky in Aus?

I was led to believe that bananas were not acceptable at all in Australia. It was one of the reasons I chose not to visit there on my vacation break.

Erhmmm...

 

My counterparts who did end up going there for two weeks for their vacation reported that based on their observations, I probably would have felt a bit ostracized for my banana.

Yeah, we've had this conversation.

I guess we claim to be multicultural, but our people don't really abide by it.

I think this is common everywhere. People claim to be "multicultural" because it's politically correct and it boosts their social standing to claim these righteous beliefs. But when you identify inconsistencies between one's beliefs and their actions, you are labeled as "bitter." And that's my tie-in back to the OP.

Vegas sucks these days. Used to be cheaper, more free drinks, and the cops were good about keeping the garbage off the main drag. Not anymore.

I would never have had anything even resembling the opportunity to be around women or alcohol and even if I did I would have been too horrified by the "immorality" of the situation to do anything.
