IS IT Better late Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 So this may sound like excuses to make me feel better and repair my little ego and self esteem. But I think I learned something critical today about what I dealt with. After hearing a story about a man who dated a (EUW) emotionally unavailable woman on the radio it prompted me to do some research. And almost all characteristics match to the way this chick behaved. Some of the characteristics were as follows: Very hot & cold (meaning super warm and friendly affectionate then for no real reason very cold & distant) she was great on dates by then would be distant from me in between dates! Bad at communicating feelings and making you feel important in her life. Very independent, she made it a point to let me know she's fine without men and was more focused on her scholastic achievements. Has trouble with relationships, Her longest was less than 2 years on & off and she's almost 30. Admitted she's "bad at relationships" And the most critical thing and prob partially why I'm writing this. These types of girls/guys will run for the hills right at the point when the relationship is transitioning from dating to something more serious b/c they associate pain and losing control with entering into a serious relationship. And finally they also will also comeback when they are left alone. Hence why this chick sends me the breadcrumbs after stretches of NC. Anyone else date what they might think was and EUW or EUM? And have any input and stories to share?
mahon451 Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Yes. Almost all of my LTRs have been with what I call "runners". So much so that it's a pattern, and I'm currently working with my therapist to break it.
rricardo35 Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 I believe my ex is very much like this. She is very selfish and show no signs of how she feels about someone. I was moving out 2 weeks ago and then she stopped me and wanted to work it out. I was blindsided so I am not sure what to work out. So now I am moving Friday and I just want to put her behind me. I hate the fact I have to see her a few more days because she is so fake. Sorry for turning this into a venting lol.
KatZee Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Yeah my last ex was an EUM. He pulled the hot and cold game. He would never discuss issues, he would just go hide like a coward for days and then come back like nothing ever happened. It's called "Pushing the Reset Button." EUM/EUW get uncomfortable when the relationship is moving faster than they want it to. These people need to control the pace, where it's going, etc. So they go hot and cold to bring their partner back to the place they want them at. There's a great book about EUM/W it's called "Mr. Unavailable and the Fallback Girl." Although the title is geared towards women, it's misleading because these signs could be used for both genders. It's definitely eye opening.
