Sugarkane Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 The Great Gatsby has been doing well at the box office. When I went it was packed out. I bet the dumpers see this movie possibly with a new SO and think it's a great movie and romantic etc. But if we contact them in real life somehow we're the psycho? But if they contact it's ok.
BustedUpInside Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 They probably think the characters in the movie are psychos too. It's just entertaining because it's not happening in real life. 1
Author Sugarkane Posted June 5, 2013 Author Posted June 5, 2013 Is it really, though? Have you seen it? I haven't yet, but I'm a huge fan of the book... I have seen it. I've also read it years ago and seen the Robert Redford version.
missunshine Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 I have seen it. I've also read it years ago and seen the Robert Redford version. me too. I have read the book a few years ago, and saw the movie a week ago. and it is GREAT, just as the title itself says "The Great Gatsby".
maturityassets Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Saw the movie. I shed a tear while watching the movie. We would all like to be Gatsby and try to re-create the past; but when your ex is like Daisy then all they want is initmacy, and once things get tough they run away.
CorridorE Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Is it really, though? Have you seen it? I haven't yet, but I'm a huge fan of the book... Read the book, haven't seen it yet, but I have heard that the movie makes it out to be more of a romantic story. 1
BustedUpInside Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Yeah, the book is a critique on capitalism, excess, and materialism. Not very romantic, so they add some underlying themes of "star-crossed lovers" and act like "fate" or something is keeping them apart.
SimonSerenade Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Sounds like a good movie, I'll have to go watch it at some point, were not psycho, it's that just that most people over react, you could be the nicest person in the world, say something nice like "I miss you" to you it's as simple as that, they'll take that and put a lot of extra mustard on it and turn it into something bad, maybe it's better to be alone in today's messed up society.
