kirbkirb Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 This guy from work asked me out 3 weeks ago. We have been texting a lot and went out last Friday. This Friday he texted and asked if me and my daughter wanted to come over on Saturday and swim and cook out. I told him to call me when he got off. I wanted to explain that I don't introduce my daughter to people that soon. He texted me when he got off and we chatted about work stuff for a few messages. I then sent a message that said "So I'm pretty particular about who Sara interacts with..." He responded with "I totally understand that. Maybe some other time then" I said: "Nothing personal at all and it's not that I don't like you, I do. I'd just like to get to know you a little better. Her dad is coming down Monday and she'll be with him Monday night if you want to do something? " I got no response. I waited and called him yesterday and he hasn't called me back. I think I might have possibly offended him? I realize I could have worded that text better. Should I send him a text today explaining myself better or should I just assume he's not interested anymore and not bother him?

If he can't understand that you don't introduce your children to people who are pretty much strangers, then obviously this isn't the guy for you. Don't text him again, or call. You put it out there. Ball's in his court now.
Matmana Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 I think you should give it some time before you reach out to him. If he doesn't' respond back, then maybe a quick text to explain things would do some good. The most important thing is to be understand and explain to him what you meant. I am sure everything will work out in the end. The best thing to do is be honest.
