Kikyou Posted October 5, 2004 Posted October 5, 2004 Okay, I had my eyes on this guy from work for about 3 months already, but we don't really know each other very well (other than our names and "hi" and "bye'). Sometimes we may talk a little bit, but because we work in different departments and at different times, it was pretty difficult to get to know each other. It's from my friends, though, that I heard about him. He seems to be a very nice person. However, I just found out from a friend of mine as well that he's quitting the job in about 2 to 3 weeks, so now I don't know what to do. I didn't realize that it actually bothers me that I may not get to see him again. I don't know what to do, my friend insists that I should let him know that I like him, yet I feel that it must be totally ridiculous if he finds out someone that he barely knows actually likes him. I want to get his contact but he's hardly alone at work so I don't have a chance to talk to him ... I could find a chance perhaps, but I feel totally weird for even wanting to try. Is it wrong? Should I just forget it and let him leave? I don't know, I am maybe sounding kinda out of my mind. I guess I just need some advice on this. Thanks.
Merin Posted October 5, 2004 Posted October 5, 2004 I don't see anything wrong with telling him something along the lines of.. "I heard your leaving in a few weeks, and I feel bad we never really had the opportunity to get to know one another as much as I would have liked. Here is my number, I would like to go out to lunch sometime after you've settled into your new job." LOL Now I realize that this is not for the faint at heart.. but trust that if he has an interest in getting to know you better as you do with him.. he will call.. and IF he doesn't, then he is leaving anyway, and you won't have to see him again;) Don't kick yourself later for not taking a chance. Good Luck
