tiki Posted October 5, 2004 Posted October 5, 2004 Dyer, Dyer, Dyer...come back and tell us about parenting when you've gotten at least SOME experience under your belt. *Almost* every parent strives to be a decent role model. You're trying to prove someone wrong on something you clearly know nothing about. If you teach children that it's okay to lose your temper and curse...they probably will follow you. I choose to not curse around my child (and soon to be step-child) for the simple fact that I don't want them doing it. It's part of being a good role model. And when people on television curse, they KNOW that it's considered inappropriate. That's the way it should be in my opinion.
Author Fayebelle Posted October 5, 2004 Author Posted October 5, 2004 A parent should teach a child their proper role in society. Those rules of behaviour really should not be different regardless of age in so much as everyone should act w/ respect, an open mind, love, and propriety. At least that's how I want things in my house. To say a child only has the role of offsping to a parent is ridiculous. They have many other present and future roles to prepare for and I think a parent should be their #1 guide in preparation for those roles.
