youngbutoldsoul Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 (edited) My ex bf of 2 years broke up with me 2 months ago because he felt "suffocated" with the ups and downs of our relationship. I begged and pleaded for him to try once more but he said he wants to be single. A month later, I find out he's using an app for hookups. It's completely bizarre to me as he's a good hearted Muslim who is resilient to so many temptations out there. He's never touched alcohol, drugs, or even another human being (as I was his first love). He has an "affair-mate" that he spends most of his time with (to avoid seeing me since we live in the same apartment). I began to have NC and speak to him only when spoken to whenever we are home. Just recently, he was gone for several consecutive nights and text me "Hey, I hope you are having a fun time this weekend :] " Why would he text me after we stopped talking for over a month? He acts like I don't even exist whenever we're home together. And now, he sends just one text. I replied (Thank you, you as well) and he never responded. Is his current dating situation a rebound? He said he knows I truly love him but he can imagine a life without me. Is there hope for reconciliation, and if so, under what circumstances? Thank you so much for your time to read and respond to my situation. I am so devastated. Edited May 28, 2013 by youngbutoldsoul

Keep up NC. He's trying to do player stuff and that's annoying. The "I know you love me but I can live without you" bit is a line. Ignore him. Find somebody better who loves the hell out of you. He needs to grow up.

In all likelihood, if you do respond, you will not get a response and he will know he got under your skin. Ignore it. Anything less than "I'm sorry, I made a mistake, can we please try again?" is not worth your response. Good luck.
Chi townD Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Breadcrumb.. Agreed! Next time, don't respond. Not worth your time or effort. You don't need to send anything to him. Remember, you were suffocating him, right? So, next time. Ignore it. OR!!! You could respond the next time with just a simple, "BREATH!!!!!" suffocating him...yeah...that's just stupid....
