Tdog123 Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Hey all, so it was my ex's birthday yesturday and usually i would see my son on sundays but because i didnt pick him up at the usual time i left it a bit late, she ended up taking him out somewhere for the day with her and her new boyfriend, so i didnt see him all that day. so i picked him up today instead and when i picked him up she said "thanks for my card off our child" but in a joking way.. like she was messin about and i told her i planned on getting one for her when i had our son, i just didnt see him all day so i didnt bother, and because she never told me she was going out for the day i didnt know to pick him up at the usual time. So i dropped him off about an hour ago now, and i just feel really bad... like should i go get her a card off our son and just tell her i forgot to drop it off or something or do you think i should just forget about it now?

Cognitive Miser Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 To an outsider, she seems just selfish and possibly irritated at you for not still being emotionally attached to her, at least in her eyes. Her being upset shows her immaturity and should mean absolutely nothing to you. You do not owe her a card for her birthday, nor anything else. You two are no longer together. It is not your job to be providing her incentives. You gave her a card through your child, that is more than enough and should suffice. As CarrieT put it more bluntly: Fuhgettaboutit!
