Hi all! I've posted my stories here quite frequently, and I've been reading a lot of other forums. Their was one forum that really caught my eye on another website about GIGS.

On another forum, classic symptoms are:

Breakup reasons are contradicting

Not too much warning of break up

Extreme change in lifestyle

"I still love you but I'm not in love with you, you should move on too!"

Quickly entering new relationship with someone they know, and are usually not very compatible with.

I must say "perfect!!!!!!"

I now realize the reason for my exs complete change in behavior! The only thing was their was quite some fighting before he broke up with me. I've beat my whole situation to the ground, but hey I just love psychology and overanalyzing everything. I don't think I'm hoping for him to come back, maybe I subconsciously am, maybe not (although I'm def hoping for him to contact me someday) I'm just fascinated with the research and stories.

Any thoughts on this?

I don't generally subscribe to the GIGS theory.

I think people use it as a reason (aka crutch) when questioning why, why, why. It's much easier to believe that than the fact that the relationship, or us, was not what our ex wanted.

Some relationships just don't last forever. The rejection hurts, I know. The reality is that most of us will never really know why.

At some point, the why won't even matter.

Indeed something that crossed my mind with gigs. In my case, mostly a crunch of why he went off the deep end since the breakup
