barrelwave Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 John Mayer is rocking my list. I'm trying to master "In My Atmosphere" on the guitars - something that I really love doing. I don't think I'm gonna go to LA anymore...
ddlovexx Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 (edited) I'm a huge Mayer fan, in fact he's one of my biggest inspirations, but that song tends to make me feel more upset... especially when it gets to the "Wherever I go, whatever I do" part. That's actually on my "don't listen to after a breakup" list. lol Some that help me are: Perfectly Lonely (Mayer) I'm Gonna Find Another You "" Good Love Is On The Way "" War of My Life "" Shake It Out (Florence & The Machine) (A Little Bit Stronger) (Sara Evans) Cant Go Wrong (Phillip Phillips) Mean (Taylor Swift.... my guy was mean so it works) Strong Enough (Cher) Matter of Time (Cartel) Faster Ride "" Maybe that helps. I'm also a songwriter so writing helps me too, if you do that. Edited May 26, 2013 by ddlovexx
Zammo25 Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 Touch - Daft Punk. Stunning and incredibly beautiful.
avelonia2013 Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 ..."Let It Be" by the Beatles. It helped aaah lot. 1
thishatteredsymphony Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Coheed and Cambria's entire album "Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness". Once you get past the pretentious title, this album has really helped me during the initial stages of anger and betrayal I felt after the cheating and break up.
AllTooWell Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Oooooo, well if you like country at all (I guess it's not true country, more pop) The song that has been saving me from breaking down on MANY occasions Stronger - Leighton Meester And I'm done hoping that we could work it out I'm done with how it feels, spinning my wheels Letting you drag my heart around I'm done thinking that you could ever change I know my heart will never be the same But I'm telling myself I'll be okay Even on my weakest days I get a little bit stronger I like this song a lot because I can turn to it when I am really, really hurting and feel like I want to give up (break NC, lay down on the floor and cry, that kind of thing). It's important to remember that even when you feel like this, you are still making progress! And if you're feeling like you want to cling to a little bit of that dreadful 'hope', Austin - Blake Shelton.
SimonSerenade Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Fine by alkaline trio pretty much how anybody feels after a break up, go through hell and put on a brave face.
mahon451 Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 I'll play this game: - Pretty much the entire Darkest Days album by Stabbing Westward. It's been helping me through breakups since 1998. Still a classic. - "You Suck" by Strapping Young Lad. In fact, most of their material post-Heavy as a Really Heavy Thing. It's just so... angry. Bonus- it's great workout music. - "Rich Girl", "Private Eyes", and "Out of Touch" by Hall & Oates. Don't judge. - "Strip the Soul" by Porcupine Tree. - The entire Creatures album by Clan of Xymox. - Lots of cheesy 80s power ballads.

My relationship was largely an LDR. He didn't cheat. But I certainly feel like I've been left by the roadside. "Wake Up" gets me every single time though. Currently listening to The End Complete III and The End Complete IV from No World For Tomorrow to try to cope. I like your username, btw
