DanielStone Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 So, this is kind of complicated and a bit of background is needed so just bare with me for a second... So roughly about 8 months ago a friend of a friend added me on Facebook and we got talking and got on really well... I would now consider her one of my best friends. Just we've never met because we live two opposite sides of London and because we both are quite busy people with College and work and all that stuff. So even though we've never met we speak pretty much daily. We've both been in relationships during this time but none of them have really worked out for either of us, when we've had problems we would always go to each other for support... We've now finally made plans to actually meet for the first time (We've always skyped each other and talked over the phone as well so it's not gonna be an awkward meeting!) Now that College has finished and we don't have as much work commitment we can finally spend some time with each other and stuff... She recently broke up with her ex about 3-4 weeks ago and yesterday she told me she really liked me and if when we meet and everything goes well she would like to see us becoming more than friends... I replied and told her that I did like her too (Which I do!) But now I'm not sure if I should have said that at all... Yeah I do like her and would like for us to be something more after we meet... But it's taken us so long to meet as neither of us just don't have time to go that far as like I said we both had work and college... So now all I'm thinking is that this isn't going to work because of that.. I don't know what to do... Any suggestions?
AsonUnique Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 I say you meet up with her and give it a shot...sounds like a good match! Exactly how long does it take to get to the other side of London? (or meet in the middle?) Also, what year in college are you 2? 1

Exactly how long does it take to get to the other side of London? (or meet in the middle?) Also, what year in college are you 2? Well then thing is, neither of us actually live in London... We're whats classed as 'Greater London' but it's not actually part of London? I don't know.. Brits are strange So by Car I could probably get there in maybe 2-3 hours but neither of us Drive, so by Bus and Train would take around 4 hours and when we both work 9-5 or are at College 9-5, 6 sometimes 7 days a week it's kinda difficult. She's just finished her second year so going on to full time employment.. I've only just finished the first year as I did a 1 year course and now have started my new one... I have 1 year left of college and then 5 years of University.
BluEyeL Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 Maybe pull one like in "When Harry Met Sally" and agree you like each other but will give it a shot in a few years if you are both available. Now it sounds like the timing is off. When you're so far from each other....sounds difficult. 1
Author DanielStone Posted May 24, 2013 Author Posted May 24, 2013 I don't know though, because as I move into my second year I don't have to be in College as much and my work hours won't increase so I'll have more free time and so should she... It just seems like my head is telling me no but my heart and gut is telling me yes? :/
AsonUnique Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 I still say go for it and meet her, and I also like Blue's idea. Maybe help tone down the expectations before the date...because that is a rough distance. I dated a girl for 3 years that lived an hour away, but that was before gas prices went psycho.

Well luckily neither of us drive so we don't have to worry about petrol, as we call it over this side of the pond! Luckily though, trains are fairly cheap, I can get there and back for about £5 and can get a two day ticket for about £10-£12

Where in Indiana do you live? I live in West Lafayette, small town, and men who go on any date with me generally need to drive 1h:D So I have no chances I guess )
