Hope737 Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 I've not spoke to my ex in around 6 weeks now. I've known her for 9 years so it has not been easy to lose my lover and best friend, as I'm sure many of you know. We work for the same company (this is not how we met, we met at school years ago). Due to the nature of our job, our shifts rotate and today she is on the early pattern and then I'll be taking over the late one. This is where we'll clash, I'll only see her for a few minutes, but seeing her face again will kill. I don't know what the situation will be, whether she'll blank me or whether we can be civil and at least exchange "smiles". I just hope that after the encounter I'm not going to feel the pain I did like the day we broke up. So is this classed as breaking NC? I know I really shouldn't be bothered but I honestly don't know how I'll feel until the encounter is over. Any thoughts?

I know I really shouldn't be bothered but I honestly don't know how I'll feel until the encounter is over. Any thoughts? I don't consider this as breaking NC. I recently broke up with my girlfriend, and at first I just tried to stay in contact and tried to keep the connection we had but it has only made things more difficult and we lost that connection that we had due to disagreements, which has made it next to impossible for us to ever have a friendship again. In my opinion the best thing for you to do is just to stay away as much as you can, don't give in. And maybe one day you could try being friends, considering how long you've been a part of each others lives, whenever that may be, 6 months, 12 months, it doesn't matter. Right now you need to focus on yourself, and getting your life back on track. Honestly when you run into her, like you said it will kill. How you respond to that is up to you, but you must stay strong and do not try to connect with her. Just 'smile and wave' if you don't mind the figurative language. Smile and wave:
Author Hope737 Posted May 23, 2013 Author Posted May 23, 2013 Haha love that clip! Yeah I tend to agree with that, NC still remains intact as it's inevitable meeting, I've not gone out of my way to contact her. I will try exactly that, just send a quick smile in her direction. Being civil in the workplace is pretty important, professionalism matters in this job!
TaraMaiden Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 The 'No Contact' Guide was written by a man who worked with his ex. All and any encounter with your ex should be conducted on a purely, completely 'professional' basis, that is, it's just work, and nothing else. Any obligatory discussion should focus singularly on work. Once that is accomplished, leave, or move away from, or close down, the situation. Nothing further is required.

Anything that bleeds that much once a month and still lives, demands respect.... OMG - I just noticed your "Be wary of women" footer. I am LMAO!
