Hey guys, I'm in desperate need for some advice... So please help me out. I was dating this guy for 7 months and yes I did fall in love with him. Things were getting pretty seriously until he got in trouble with the cops. He broke with with me because he needed space and because he wasn't ready for a relationship and he didn't want to hurt me because he might be going to jail in august for 2 years... But it was a bad breakup. He said I was crazy and That i never meant anything to him... So i decided to give him some space and not contact him. It took him 4 months but he finally contacted me and said sorry, that he needs me there for him and that he wanted to meet for coffee. Well we ended up getting into a stupid fight and I never got the chance to meet him for coffee... I haven't talked to him since and I'm just wondering if I should text him before he goes to jail. I still love him and he obviously needs someone there for him... Should I text him to tell him i'm there for him and that I care about him?

Sorry, but uh....jail for two years? You can't find someone better or, hell, someone who isn't going to be locked up?

Drop this, and drop this now.

Don't stay in touch because you feel sympathy for him.

The strong chances are that you WILL meet someone else on the outside - then the separation and break-up will set him back further than anything else you could think of.

When he comes out, you'll be 21.

An 'adult' and utterly changed, no doubt. (Are you the same now as you were when you were 17....? No, quite.)

Nope.

Leave this be.

No boys who are in jail. Or on the verge of jail. Ideally, nobody who has been in jail.

Especially at your age.

Yeah I know it's for the best to just give up but it's so hard. I don't want him back, I just want closure...

Closure is like vomit:

It comes from within, but YOU have to get it out of your system.

Nobody but you can give you closure.
