Wow, thanks for posting that. I usually steer clear of country music, just my own issue. But, that was a very moving tribute to the OW for certain.

Dave Matthews and John Mayer and also Bare Naked Ladies, Chris Isaac, Jason Mraz, Eric Clapton, and on and on. Unfortunately because our connection was through music I can't listen to anything (with the exception of maybe classical music - lol) without thinking "xom would love this".

 

I still like my earlier contribution to this thread. Sing it at the top of your lungs! Makes you feel better every time.

I love UK band "Hurts", it has a lots of beautiful songs, but some of them are kind of depressing..so proceed with caution.. :)

I will always remember my niece making me listen to this song and saying 'See you have a choice' Thank you Donna it hurts but you are so right.

 

Will spend tonight on Youtube listening to all your suggestions.

 

Another that makes me laugh is Does He Love You by Reba McEntire and Linda Davies. Im not a big lover of country music but it sure as hell says all the right things sometimes.

 

Sometimes a sad song just makes you feel a little better xx

I can't listen to this song anymore...i will start bawling every single time when she says, "I've given you my best why does she get the best of you".

 

The other song that KILLS me is Mandolin Rain (Bruce Hornsby). There is a point in the song that says, "I'll do my time, Keeping you off my mind, But there's moments that I find, I'm not feeling so strong"....and then a bit later says..."But, I can't change my mind, Oh I knew all the time that she'd go, But that's a choice I made long ago." There is something about how beautiful the song is and how the words ring so true. It used to be one of my favorites...but I can't hear it anymore without tears.

 

 

I could list a million more. Then again I've always said that if I was ever famous enough to have a movie made about me it would have to be a musical. I swear there is a soundtrack to my life.

The song that tore my heart out when it was released was Need You Now by Lady Antebellum. I sat in a hotel room reading emails she had sent me, at a time in the day we would have normally been talking and it crushed me.

 

Several days ago we were in the car and it played. We both had tears in our eyes, and that familiar emptiness settled with me for several days.

 

I listened to Stay and have to say that is an incredibly sad song.

Oh my goodness YES- I Need You Now can reduce me to a sobbing mess no matter what. Have you heard "Just a Kiss" by Lady Antebellum? Same thing.

 

Okay I need to go do something constructive now to get my mind straight. If you haven't heard I Need You Now...don't do it!!!! LOL.

Not one song. I do not think of exAP when listening to music, I tend to think of my own life and where I am now because of the destructive nature of the affair, will not and refuse to assign songs with emotions in them specifically for an individual who had no regard for my well being.

 

 

I can only hope and wish that I feel the way you do soon. NC is killing me at the moment. xx

Thank you for this suggestion. I have never heard of Hinder but after listening to it on youtube I have added it to my playlist. :D
