Very complicated situation!!

Hi guys! Completely new to this forum but just looking for some advice on my breakup!

 

A bit of background - my ex and I were together for 3years and split about 6 weeks ago. Basically he drunkenly kissed a girl and I found out. This lead to a lot of arguing between us and basically in the end he broke up with me. We had no contact after this for about a month, I didn't call him or text him and I had no intention of doing so and then he contacted me. We ended up sleeping together (I know big mistake!) and after that night we were texting almost everyday. We then spend the whole weekend together and started to feel like ourselves... Kissing and cuddling etc although both of us are weary of getting back together

 

Anyway basically I have been talking to another guy, nothing serious just a few texts and my ex seemed very bothered, almost jealous of this although he kept saying he wasn't sure what he wanted for us. So then he tells me we shouldn't text for a while and that I'm messing with his head. I would like to point out that when we first broke up he was texting some other girl! But anyway he thinks we need a break in contact for a bit and then we promised to tell each other if we start sleeping or seeing someone else. I'm just confused on one hand he seems to miss me and he's worried that things will get serious with this guy and on the other hand he's saying he's not sure what he wants and that he's confused, he's worried that one of us will end up hurt if we continue to spend time together but then still wants to know if/when I meet someone new :s

 

So can anyone shed some light haha!? Is he confused or does it sound like he's still in love with me? Or does he want me to move on? I do love him very much but this whole situation has me thrown! Please help :(

He wants to keep you on a leash. He kissed another girl and was already texting another girl. You deserve better.

Yeah, really not complicated at all. He doesn't want to be with you, but also doesn't want to you to move on or be happy without him. Pretty much a jerk move on his part. What should you do? Forget about him and move on. Go NC if you have to. What will you do? Hmmm... well that maybe another story :)
