joseph3 Posted September 29, 2004 Posted September 29, 2004 My name is joseph and i was recently dumped this past summer. My ex and i were together for a little over a year. She says that she wants to have this year to herself and have fun. I was fine w/ her decision until recently, when i came home from college for the weekend and had a GREAT weekend w/ her. We did not fight, it was a wonderful time. On Sunday night she called me and to tell me that she loves me. Needless to say i was ecstatic and thought i was gaining some ground on getting back together with her. Sure enough though, last night i talked to her on the phone and she said that nothing has changed between us and then at the end of the conversation i told her that i love her and her response was, "uh...ok." I have been feeling terrible all day. I have no idea what to do because i do love her and i dont know if its worth the trouble of fighting for anymore. It seems like she just keeps messing with me. This weekend is her birthday, should i take her out and try to have a good time or forget it? someone please help, i'm going insane.

joseph3 Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 thanks for the advice. do you guys think she's going to come back? today i found out that she is dating a FRESHMAN in high school. she keeps telling me that if i give her the space she wants, by next summer she'll want to get back w/ me. should i even believe that or not?

It might be true, but the best thing you can do is start having your own life that does not revolve around her!
