MidwestUSA Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 I had a ONS with a girl that had a tongue piercing. Kissing her was pretty bad...thing kept getting in the way. Worst part is that she wouldn't give me a BJ. I mean...just what is that thing for? Seriously...what is it for....cuz it was irritating. It helps increase your chances of contacting meningitis. Oh, wait, you were looking for something positive, never mind. 1
Els Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 REALLY not my cup of tea, but I'm sure some girls will dig it.
Author DanielStone Posted May 17, 2013 Author Posted May 17, 2013 Aww...I wish I had something more positive to say but I don't like piercings nd certainly won't date someone with those sort of piercings I.e facial piercings. Re: Tattoos, I don't like tattos. Maybe if it was a small one in a hidden area- I could manage that. But big tattos on the arms etc? No way. (Did I spell "Tattoo" right?) Lol Few things to note: Age matters a lot. I'm a 26year old professional. Ild be looking to date or settle with someone similar. Most employers won't allow facial tattoos. So in a way, itld be difficult to find a professional with facial piercings or visible tattos. if that makes any sense. I know several people who had tattoos and facial piercings whilst at univversity but they had no choice but to get rid of them and go out fully clothed inorder not to reveal the permanent ink. Second, I don't want to stereotype but there is a certain impression that someone with facial piercings and tattoos gives. Many people perceive them as "rock and roll rebellious" people. Obviously this is NOT often the case but it does send some unfavourable vibes. Third, I like the "clean" look. Ultimately if I met a fantastic man who had a tattoo on his arm, I would rule him out...especially if he got it when he was younger (which is often the case). But ild make sure he covered it up anytime we went out. So things might be a bit awkward. In conclusion....it's a no for me. I'm sorry That's fair enough, everyone is entitled to their own opinion! Doesn't make any difference to me, but just wanted to mention a few things. I have a job as to where I am not allowed to wear any of my facial piercings... Not a problem, I either hide them or take them out whilst at work, the tattoo I'm getting won't be on show if I'm wearing short sleeves... So, you'd be surprised at the amount of people who actually have piercings and tattoos but either cannot or do not want to show them when in certain environments. Secondly, you said about the type of stereotype and vibe people give off when they have tattoos and piercings... I completely disagree with this 100%! Sure, I'm into Rock and Metal and other music genres like that, however, I also enjoy a lot of classical, current pop, jazz and other genres like that. I also have a job where I do have quite a lot of responsibilities, I am very professional in the workplace and (without trying to toot my own horn) I am a very smart person, I'm expected to go on and finish a PhD in Aerospace or Aeronautical engineering... My piercings and tattoos (when I get them) shouldn't define me as a person.

Because I have drawings on my arms? People have the right to not like tattoos but seriously. My job isn't admin - it's very customer service and I would never hide tattoos to avoid offending people. That's their problem. Not mine. 1

My job isn't admin - it's very customer service and I would never hide tattoos to avoid offending people. That's their problem. Not mine. C'mon. People are judged based on the 'vibes' they project with their choice of presentation all the time. If you saw a woman who was dressed in a miniskirt so short that it showed her asscrack, a top barely covering her nipples, a nose piercing connected with a chain to her ear, and garish makeup, would she not project any sort of vibes to you? Really? You'd think, "Oh, that's just her choice of clothes, she might be a surgeon for all I know"? Don't see why tattoos/piercings should be any different. 2
Author DanielStone Posted May 17, 2013 Author Posted May 17, 2013 I love you! Haha! Why thank you! I just had to get it out, It annoys me when people judge someone on what they like rather than who they are.. 1

Probably wouldn't be attracted to her, but none the less wouldn't judge her... If she started talking to me I would talk back and have a normal conversation just like I would with any other person.. I wouldn't judge anyone based on their appearance.. 1

Uh, sure, if a tattooed guy spoke to me, I'd talk to him as well. I'm certainly not advocating being rude. However, most people do judge you based on the vibes you project, even if they are nice to you. It's just the way it is. Despite that, you can choose to not care, and choose to be whomever you want to be. I choose such, for myself.

But people shouldn't.. everyone is different and deserves to be treated in such a way that they are not judged until someone gets to know them... Sure if that girl was a total bitch and was so far up her ass I wouldn't want to talk to her and would judge from there on after... but thats after getting to know someone. 1
lissa90 Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 I am heavily tattooed - chest piece, legs, thighs, arms. I don't really care if a future partner has multiple piercings, tattoos or is completely au natural. As long as everything is clean and hygienic in regards to the piercings - then what ever floats your boat. To those who say tattoos look terrible when you age, my skin is going to wrinkle and sag anyway and I'd much prefer to have colourful skin with my old memories to look at. I can't wait for my future grand kids to ask why I got them so I can tell them its story. I am currently training to be a counsellor and so far, I have never come across anyone who has had anything negative to say. So in answer to your question, hell yeah I'd date someone with piercings and tatts. I'm open minded and don't judge. 2

ThaWholigan Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 Well, to be honest... Now a days I do find it quite surprising when I meet someone and they have no tattoos at all! It's become sort of a modern normality to get some kind of tattoo once you hit 18! Yes - I'm one of very few that I know who doesn't have any tattoos or piercings - besides the fact I have no desire to get one, having hypersensitive skin makes that a little difficult anyway . I have no problem dating a girl with tats or piercings though - I think it looks sexy on some women. Problem is, they usually want to date guys with tats and piercings . Never mind!

Or at least if I do, I remind myself that I should not be judging based on her appearance. It's a personal choice. One I wish more people would make.
Els Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 That's what I'm talking about!! So.. did you come here to ask us a question, or did you only want to hear from people who like tattoos? Because it sure sounds like the latter, based on your responses to posters. In that case, why not start a thread titled, "Tattoo lovers, lets hear from you!" instead? 2

Els Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 And we choose not to judge. Look. The entire premise of this thread was to ask people what they think about guys with tattoos and piercings. You cannot start or enter such a thread and then accuse people who have answered on topic, as being judgmental. 1

Because it sure sounds like the latter, based on your responses to posters. In that case, why not start a thread titled, "Tattoo lovers, lets hear from you!" instead? I was interested to hear other peoples opinions and to have a discussion based on other peoples opinions... Obviously I have my opinions and if other people agree with me then great! But the people who disagree with me and say they don't like piercings and tattoos for certain reasons such as "Gives off certain vibes" I want to know why people feel this way and if I can let them know that their reasons for disliking them aren't actually true, some people have proven to be quite close minded on this particular subject and I simply just give examples in my life that show that what they have heard or think isn't always true...
Els Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 did you expect he would change his mind because 'you' don't like tattoos? This is a conversation. Obviously not. However, he is clearly arguing with everyone who says 'no!', and applauding everyone who says 'yes'. That seems like a very loaded question to me - there is only one 'right' answer. That signifies to me that the OP is looking for validation, not looking for an answer to his question. It irks me that Sunshine was being attacked simply for answering the question posed to the OP. That being said, I generally have no interest in participating in threads with loaded questions. Out, for now. 2

Stating an opinion on something such us Piercings and Tattoos isn't really being judgemental... 'I don't like piercings because I don't think they're clean'... 'I like piercings because I think they look hot'... Can clearly see the judgmental side there.. 1

CryForNoOne Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 Well, to be honest... Now a days I do find it quite surprising when I meet someone and they have no tattoos at all! It's become sort of a modern normality to get some kind of tattoo once you hit 18! This depends entirely on your socio-economic upbringing. I grew up in Wellesley, MA (serious WASP old money) and I can assure you tattoos are still rare and looked down upon - one of the reasons I'll never move back BTW...
CryForNoOne Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 I personally have nothing against tattoos and piercings. I find a few that are well placed very sexy. BUT I'm not physically attracted to facial piercings or excessive tattoos - like covering whole body parts. Also they're not accepted by mainstream society - so even though I myself don't judge, it will pose problems in many social situations...
