First Meeting since breakup

So my ex talked more tonight. She was saying how hard it has been for her and she sees me smiling all the time in pics and hasnt seen me this happy in months. Long story short she wants to meet at her new apt tomorrow night after our daughter is asleep. She said she wants to catch up and talk about what ive been doing and i agreed and said we should be open and honest and agreed to meet her. I plan on going and start out with how have you been etc and mainly listen to her. She said the talk isnt about getting back together but all the things she said about on the phone seem to point to talking about that and hell why meet up to talk about random stuff and "catch up". I ll be suave about it but i dont know how to take this. It'll be the first time we hang out since the BU and this is the most we have talked since then. It could be just for her to see what ive been doing or she is confused or a booty call idk. But i feel in my heart that its right to at least see what she has to say and go from there. Any advice?

She has told you she isn't interested. are you okay with face to face rejection?

I wont not think about that possibility of rejection. This was all on her to have this meeting. If she is taking that leap to tell me how hard its been for her, the only reason its been somewhat easier is bc we dont see each other and this meeting will be hard and how she isn't happy then I will at least meet her in person.

 

I am level headed honestly and surprisingly. I know a couple months ago I definitely wasn't. If she wants to just "catch up" it is a done deal in my book. So be it and I can 100% not look back. However, there is a chance this could be the thing we need in order to start over in a new relationship down the road.

 

No need to just see the downside of what could possibly happen. I was asking for advice on the situation not can I handle face to face rejection. Thanks though
