Tashikie Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 Friday night, my girlfriend is going up to a college to se her old friend. Now, here's where the problems arise. She is going with her ex-boyfriend, there will be lots of alcohol there, and she won't know half the guys that will be there. Needless to say, I'm a little worried about the whole thing. I give her this long email on why I'm worried and how, even though I'm not going to, how I'd like to ask her to saty with her knowing how uneasy it makes me feel. Her response? "You worry too much" I mean, come on, seriously. Am I doing something wrong? I want to trust her, but it's just hard to.
Naive Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 It does not sound to me like she is heartless. Has she ever gave you a reason to not trust her?
She's Come Undone Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 Give me a break! But I guess since your user name is naive, maybe you are. Your significant other should make you feel better about a certain situation. She is making you feel crazy for feeling what you feel, that is what is called emotional abuse. Don't stand for it. She has no valid excuse for doing this, you have stated your strong feelings against it, and she has blown you off. Time to do the same to her.
Naive Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 There's obviously trust issues on his part. He does not state whether she has done something in the past to make him not trust her, that will probably make a difference. The way he puts it does not sound like she is a HEARTLESS person! Maybe she's carefree or maybe they just started a relationship, who knows!
LittleMiss Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 She is going with her ex? That's strange. What is their relationship now? If you really trust her and think that she will honor your relationship then don't make a big deal about it. If this situation is really bothering you that much why don't you go along with her or ask her to seriously consider your feelings. Maybe try the what if the shoe was on the other foot approach. How would she like it if you went off with your ex and left her behind.
FolderWife Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 Going against the grain here, I think that this girlfriend is being really disrespectful! She may not intend to do anything with him, but she's putting her wants above your feelings. I don't know what to say to do. Everyone else seems to think it's ok, but I know I'd be FURIOUS if one of my old boyfriends wanted to take a trip with his ex
