I told him to get it while he's young, so that it'd be easier to deal with but he keeps bringing up that no one will date him cause of it. Plus, I told him that the end result will be wort it. Personally, I would still date a woman if she had braces but I want to get the masses' opinion. Would you guys/ladies see braces as a deterrent to dating someone?
BluEyeL Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 It depends how he looks otherwise. I have a co-worker who is handsome, and has braces. If he wasn't married, I would date him. I was on a date with a guy who had an eye defect (strabism??) AND braces. I would not, for the life of me, go on a second date with that one.

Either way, for me it wouldn't bother me

It's not exactly meant exclusively for kids, it's just that dental work is usually done early on. Perhaps the OP's friend is like me.. Parents never took him to the dentist at an early age, and so they never realized he needed braces because they didn't bother to get him checked from time to time. I'm going to need them myself because of it..

I guess it would depend on how attracted I was to them despite wearing braces. I mean, after all, it's only temporary.
