You are very intelligent. What is your profession?

That is what they told me to do and recheck in 3 months. I do take a daily multivitamin...not sure how much Vit D is in there though.

I just hope it's something I can resolve and move on with. I don't want it to turn into something worse!

I supplement with at least 2,000 i.u. of D3 daily, which is more than one needs, apparently. However, I've noticed that it seems to help with immunity/energy levels/mood.

If you're ingesting enough Vitamin D, but your levels are low, then there is a problem with absorption. Talk to your doctor about what could be causing this. There's a chance they might put you on a Vit D megadose (like 40,000 i.u. /day) if your absorption rate is so low for whatever reason.

Whatever you do, you probably ought have your doc supervise this. Vitamin D is good, but it also can be toxic in high amounts. The problem is that since Vitamin D is fat soluble, it has a tendency to accumulate within the body, so you need to be careful with over-supplementing.

Yeah, I hope it doesn't cause further issues either! Luckily, supplemental Vitamin D is very inexpensive.

I was recently diagnosed with lower than normal levels of Vit. D. It baffles me as I hadn't had this issue before and my diet hasn't changed, nor my energy level. Hmmmmm....

Your body naturally creates vit. D. So, if you're simply getting enough sun light, being outdoors safely and from your diet, you should be okay. Perhaps I'm spending too much time indoors???? Eh, don't know. I started taking more multi-vitamins and the dosage of D is enough in those alone.

Yea I now understand why my body aches sometimes, I just thought it was normal.

People say Vit D takes awhile to get back to normal though and you might not feel better for a couple months.

I always take multivitamins and I get plenty of sun, I live in Arizona!

Health is an on-going process. Aside from any dietary deficiencies you need to do your research. I'd highly suggest looking into Traditional Chinese Medicine. There are problems that Western doctors are simply not equipped to deal with and generalized fatigue is usually one of those issues. If all other serious issues have been ruled out such as vitamin deficiencies or organ troubles then you need to see a natropath or certified alternative medicine practitioner. Acupuncture has also been known to work wonders on clinical and sub clinical ailments with no clear cause. The cherry on top is that it's now much more likely to be covered by health insurance plans than before.

You may have something like Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, which is no fun at all. I doubt lack of vit D could explain severe lack of energy....

You can get cheap Vitamin D3 in tiny capsules from Trader Joe's. I take one everyday in addition to my piles of other vitamins and supplements.

Get enough sleep, too, even if you have to take a nap.
