mtnbiker3000 Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 77 days nc, wish her happy birthday or don't say a word! What would you do Ha! You know the answer 1
Author Jord11 Posted May 7, 2013 Author Posted May 7, 2013 Ha! You know the answer I know I do but I'm on the fence with this
SadPanda22 Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 I wouldn't say a word. Congrats on 77 days NC, stick with it.
mtnbiker3000 Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 I know I do but I'm on the fence with this Well, what are you expecting if you do it? Personally, I wouldn't. If you've made it 77 days (I'm at 54 days 99% NC myself ), then why mess with 'success'? Worst case = Mess with your head, set you back and make you feel foolish Best case = Mess with your head and set you back 1
Author Jord11 Posted May 7, 2013 Author Posted May 7, 2013 Alright I won't, she doesn't deserve it for what she did too me anyways
mtnbiker3000 Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Alright I won't, she doesn't deserve it for what she did too me anyways Good man!!! I can relate, my ex's B-Day is next month...
Harradin Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Agreed, don't say a word. I made the same topic and I was recommended: What I did, after the break up, was when her birthday came around I went out and bought myself a gift with the money I would have spent on her...... It worked wonders for me as I didn't need to feel an urge! 2
mtnbiker3000 Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Agreed, don't say a word. I made the same topic and I was recommended: It worked wonders for me as I didn't need to feel an urge! Great idea!! I'm going to do this!!!
Harradin Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Great idea!! I'm going to do this!!! I got a nice set headphones on my ex's birthday:p
Rudyruude Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Wow crazy my ex girlfriends bday was yesterday too the only difference is that I've been nc for about 10 months now since she left right after her bday last year....I was thinking about texting her too but common sense prevailed and im happy i didn't...its like everyone on here says...no contact means no contact...no exceptions...not even a birthday...F&*$ em...props on the 77 days tho seriously be proud and keep on rollin...I definitely know how hard it is..I was in your place this time last year and thought id neverfeel better...hurt even more cuz she left me for another guy, was too much of a coward to tell me the truth and was most likey cheating on me before it happened....but it gets better one day at a time...so am I worried about not wishing her a happy birthday? F*** no! and neither should you! 2
cavalier99 Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 I would have never texted my ex anything while i was recovering. So definitly not. Now for me it is over 7 months post BU and im over it. Her B-day is in a few days and i have stange urge to wish her happy bday. So im also wondering if i should sent a text. She sent me nice email in December for my bday. Not sure where this urge to friend zone her is coming from. Im head over heals gaga over a new girl who loves me to death. I dont want back with the ex. So why do i want to be on good terms with the ex???? I actually feel slightly guilty if i dont reciprocate her december email. I feel like a dumper now i think. Maybe I should start a thread. Sorry for the thread jack. Cav
aisuru Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Where are you emotionally? Were you the dumper or dumpee? Which action will make you feel better?

cavalier99 Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Where are you emotionally? Were you the dumper or dumpee? Which action will make you feel better? I was the dumpee and went hard hard core NC to recover from my 8 year RS. Now im in a great place emotionally. I got totally indifferent at about 6 months plus NC. Dated some, hooked up a bunch and finally met a new girl who blows away the ex. I guess id like to wish her a bday and eventually wish her well in her new RS and catch up. Ive known her for so long it almost seem sorta wrong now just to totally cut her out. Keep in mind i would have never thought this way a few months ago. I texted her the other week when i saw her driving and she texted back. Didnt affect me at all. It was the only contact i make in 7 months. I guess ill just text her because id like to make the gesture. Thanks Cav

Simon Phoenix Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Good for you man. Did anything every happen with the ex?? Or have you laid that to rest?? Are you dating at all Simon?? Your obviously long long over your ex....i would think. Should i say happy bday to ex or not..your call! Nothing really with the ex. Have had varying amounts of success with contact (some yes, some no), called this weekend to see if she wanted lunch/coffee, no response back. It's weird, every time I contact (which basically comes in sporadic whims, definitely nothing regular or over the top) I become more indifferent to her response. Who knows how long I'll continue that, probably until I get bored with it, she tells me to f--k off or until she agrees to give a brother a second chance. Either way, it's all good. Not dating anyone per se, but I've met a few women here or there. I'm definitely not waiting around on my ex when it comes to that. As for you, I would not do it, but more out of respect for your current girlfriend than because I'm worried about any sort of setback in your recovery for her. I think you are cured from the breakup, but it would look kind of shady to be texting your ex while dating someone else. 1
Author Jord11 Posted May 9, 2013 Author Posted May 9, 2013 Thanks everyone, well her birthday passed and I didn't say one word, I kinda feel bad because I'm not this kind of person, I'm too nice sometimes but it's for the best that I maintain nc 1
