Buttercup84 Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 There is a difference between being a nice guy, and being a good man. Being confident and postive is a turn on, being whiny and bitching about women is not. We want to date a man, not a girl. Everyone can be nice, or pretend to be. But being a good man, is something you can't fake. Frankly, you so called nice guys on here do not come across nice at all. Work on being a good man. And just because you are nice to a woman, does not mean she owes you a date. Saying that we all lie and that we all want bad boys is just bs.
fortyninethousand322 Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 he asks her out, she throws a hissy fit because she was just being friendly, and all men are pigs because they hit on women who are just being friendly. Yeah that's how it often goes...

MOST women lie and MOST want bad boys. I have met some women that don't, but they're not the majority. And no, this is not coming from a whiny guy that's unsuccessful with women. This is coming from an experienced guy that has had lots of sex and currently has a girlfriend (thought I'd just say that before I get accused of being the former ). 2

But many men on here make out as if we are thr enemy. Men lie too, we all do.
ChessPieceFace Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Everyone can be nice, or pretend to be. But being a good man, is something you can't fake. Frankly, you so called nice guys on here do not come across nice at all. Work on being a good man. This is actually true. I'm a good man yet more and more I'm not very nice at all. Being someone who believes in higher standards and believes in crazy things like justice and fairness, tends to kill one's niceness very quickly when being forced to live on planet Earth. Thing is - in my experience, women don't value "good men" either. If you think they do -- well, that's a common delusion. 1
Author jakelongot Posted May 8, 2013 Author Posted May 8, 2013 Great discussion on this thread! I guess using the term "nice guy" to describe the situation was probably a mistake as it has taken on a negative connotation on these boards. Passive or non assertive is probably a better description. I am not describing my situation in terms of the "nice guy" losing out to the "bad boy", but simply being friendly, having a good conversation or having a laugh, but not pulling the trigger before the night ends and asking for that date or phone number. Too often I wait for an obvious signal from the girl or even her to give me her number unsolicited. The reason? Kinda like the girls are saying, I don't want to be embarrassed in case she is just being friendly. All that said, the general consensus from the women here is that as a guy you shouldn't be too coy. She equally fears embarrassment (maybe even more so) if she makes her intentions blatently known and they are not reciprocated... Take a chance gentlemen. Maybe just a simple conversation if enough of a indication of interest.
PogoStick Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Here's a novel idea - why not just fearlessly be who you really are, and **** trying to make yourself into something "just right" in order to get a girl? I remember one of the PUA guys saying this. Go ahead and tell a girl you like Warcraft or Dungeons and Dragons. If you say it powerfully, without apology, then the girl will accept it. He still must be able to calibrate and can't stay on that topic forever or he'll lose her interest. The point is that the delivery and personality behind it is more important than the actual words being spoken.
Charlie Harper Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Also Nice Guys take time, douches and players will be uber charming and fun and you will be playing in bed ASAP. A (real) nice guy will try to know you, will be interesting but not "interested", he will listen you you and talk less than a woman, because He will be polite and will like to know you. Nice guys will flirt too but wont go over the top or use stupid pick up lines, you have to catch his advances ... if you dont HE WONT go for it, not because shyness or insecurity, but he is not trying to bag every woman he meets, a player WILL. Also if you are with a nice guy you have to flirt yourself so he gets the vibe and goes for it.. players dont even wait for the signals, THEY MAKE THEM. believe me, I know! LOL
