So I recently broke up with my boyfriend who I was with for almost three years. He broke my heart and cheated on me. He begged me to take him back but I refused and asked him to stop contacting me.

 

I met this new guy and he seems really nice. We started texting and talking a little but I'm getting mixed signals from this guy and I don't know how to react to him. One minute he seems like he's interested in talking to me and getting to know me more and then the next minute he seems like he doesn't want to talk. I'm not sure if I'm over thinking it or not. Its like I've forgotten how this whole process goes. He lost his phone and got a new one but I haven't really gotten a chance to see him in person for him to tell me that he did. I see him on whatsapp. I'm not sure if its that he lost all of his contacts and doesn't have my number anymore or if he's just not interested. I don't want to come off as pushy or annoying because I know what unwanted attention feels like. Do you think I should write him or just leave it alone and don't contact him?

Are you sure you're ready to date again? I'm only asking because you say the new guy gives you mixed signals, but are you sure that he's not reacting to your signals?

 

I just ask because when I'm still getting over someone - I know that I tend to be hot and cold with the next person (unintentionally and that shows me that I'm not really ready to date yet - so I do take a break).

 

But I would say leave it alone for now - if he's interested, he will find a way to contact you.

Its only been a few months since I broke up with my ex. I took it hard because he was the first guy I ever fell for. Maybe you are right about me being hot and cold with him. Maybe I pull away a little because I'm afraid to let anyone in. Thanks for the advice I'll leave it up to him to contact me.
