Col1 Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Sharing about one's self can create bonding. Imagine Jane and John, a new couple who recently started an exclusive relationship. Jane willingly shares something personal with John. In this case: Does Jane feel more bonded to John because she shared? Or, does John feel more bonded to Jane because she opened up?
tricolors Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 One person sharing something should make both parties feel more intimate and bonded with each other. You should feel a sense of trust when sharing something with someone, and in turn that person should have gratitude that you were willing to open up to them.
BoneyHadger Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Are you really concerned with who feels bonded more to a point of measuring it to minute, OCD-style differences? If both feel bond to each other and it keeps working like that, I'd say, great for them, keep doing that.
Author Col1 Posted May 7, 2013 Author Posted May 7, 2013 One person sharing something should make both parties feel more intimate and bonded with each other. Some people talk endlessly about their personal business, yet I feel no more closer to them.
