selfsabotager Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Just over 3 weeks apart and I find out he's sleeping with his ex, who he broke up with 2 months before he started dating me, then slept with her again 3 weeks into us dating. When he broke up with her last August, he went back to his ex-wife for a week. I realize this is his "pattern", but I'm devastated that maybe he's back in a relationship with her. What are the chances this will last?????
Author selfsabotager Posted May 6, 2013 Author Posted May 6, 2013 Is she a soft-landing or the real thing?
aisuru Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Run, don't walk. He'll never change. I have a friend that does this... It's agonizing to watch. If he continues this pattern, he'll be knocking on your door within a year. Is that what you want?
Author selfsabotager Posted May 6, 2013 Author Posted May 6, 2013 If his last conversation is any indication, I'll never hear from him again, but I get your point. Just is so frustrating because he swore up and down during our relationship that he wanted nothing to do with her. It's like he did the one thing that he knew would never allow us to reconcile!
aisuru Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 For whatever reason, he is hiding his pain in the easily available comfortable girl he knows. Sounds like a weak guy to me... I know you hurt. I know how it makes no sense. You know the answer here.
Author selfsabotager Posted May 6, 2013 Author Posted May 6, 2013 I do. I could never trust him or take him back again, though I have to say, I would love the phone call to come in so I at least have the opportunity to say no. I realize she's a warm, familiar body, but really? The one girl that would devastate me? And yes, he's notorious for being a weak guy, one with no backbone. One of our issues, actually. I know what's right, unfortunately, it doesn't hurt any less.
aisuru Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 The greatest moment of power will be when he reaches out to you and you ignore him. Even speaking him to say 'no' gives him more power. I PROMISE. Stay strong. Take care of yourself.
